Chapter 17 Magnus & Alec

2 months later..

Magnus POV: So it's been two months wow that went really fast so Alec got healed he recovered in like three to four weeks he starting working soon as he was back to 100% and that's good he starting being the head of the New York institute I'm proud of him he has came a long way to get where he was. He started coming home early and sometimes late but most nights I stayed awake for him and most nights I didn't because I started seeing clients again I took a break of seeing my clients when Alec got injured he still has a little pain but his taking some painkillers for the pain his not pushing himself too hard after a month went by where he got attacked there's scars coming out it should fade soon I'm hoping. Also Madzie was so happy to see Jace, Izzy and Clary when they were over here I still see Madzie I give her some money to help her out I know Catarina only gives her three dollars for pocket money when she helps around the house and when her teeth fall out Catarina gives her like six dollars so in one way I'm proud Madzie she is happy little girl. Right now I'm in my office just writing some spells in my book it was different spells that could possibly work. I'm actually proud of Alec but I feel like soon his going to ask me and Jace what happened that night when he got hurt really badly he hasn't asked me or Jace yet probably work has been keeping his mind off things but yet at the same time he is the head of the New York institute so he keep checking files after files, checking footages and cases I've just been helping him with the dead bodies that comes in and see what was the cause of death was and plus sometimes he brings home a hard drive and USB sticks  because sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night either need something to drink or something to eat and he'll be in his den upstairs working because I can hear typing I know he doesn't want me to hear the footage because he always uses headphones I'll probably cook or either get take out I realise that it's like 1pm in the afternoon I keep writing down some spells I guess Alec's afternoon is a bit busy well I better try to work on this spells see if their work or not.
Alec POV: So I look over at the clock it's 3:45pm I've been having some meetings today I hope that I get off at work soon I really want to see Magnus. Oh I know what I can do maybe I can buy some flowers for him I don't know what kind he likes so I'm just going to grab some random ones and I hope he'll like that then I hear a knock on my door "Hey Alec." I hear Jace's voice "Hi." I said "Are you busy at all? Did I ruin something?" He asked "No I'm not busy what's up?" I say to him "Oh nothing just bored after the mission. So I don't know what to do now." He says as he goes over to the couch I get up and close my door and I sit over to the couch "How are you feeling?" He asked me "I'm feeling a lot better I'll have to take another painkiller soon because I'm still in a little pain but anyways I wanted to talk to you and I know I might have to ask Magnus this sometime this week but what happened that night? I only remember pieces." I said "Well you must have fight that shapeshifter and we was taken out of the room we fight our owns then next thing I knew I heard you yelling we searched for you everywhere until we founded you. You was on the ground there was cuts over where the shapeshifter cut you then you started to bleed out a lot you're eye vision must have gotten blurry and you probably couldn't hear things just muttered so I pick you up and we ran straight to Magnus he putted a plastic sheet on the couch I put you on his couch he started working his magic I tried using the healing rune while he was using his magic it stopped the bleeding for a while then we took you into the guest room there was a plastic sheet underneath and we had to get you some fresh blood but then you started losing a lot more blood we started freaking out Magnus had to use more magic he founded something to stop the bleeding but that's why he left because he was worried that you were going to died I know I would be really heartbroken if you did died but Magnus he would be destroyed if you died." Jace says as I was in complete shock "Wow." I said as Jace gets up and I get up he leads over and gives me a hug "Trust me I would never leave you." I said to Jace "Yeah I know." He said then there was another knock on the door we pull apart then Clary comes in "Hey Alec. Do you mind if I borrow Jace for a few hours." She asked "No problem also I'll be going home soon so I'll see you, Jace and Izzy in here before I go." I said to her "Ok sure thing boss." She says while she's laughs I go back over to my desk I take two painkillers and I drink some water. I had Magnus get me a medication bottle to fill with painkillers just in case if I'm feeling any pain at work I look up online because I had finished every work I search for a jewellery shop that sells all type of rings I call up a place "Hello this is Sarah how can I help you?" The women over the phone says "Hi there I was just calling to see if you guys sell promise rings and do you guys put anything written in the rings." I said "Um yes we do that just come down the shop at 5:48pm and we'll see what we can do." She said "Ok well I'll see you soon then." I said I hang up the phone and I write down on a piece of paper what I want written in the ring. It's like 5:29pm right now I head out and I go to the shop "Hello there sir how can I help you today?" She says "Yes I called here a few minutes ago." I said "Yes you did." She said as I look at the time and I got here on time "So what kind of promise ring are you looking for?" She asked me "Something that is very beautiful." I said I look around and I already talked Izzy, Clary and Jace so least I can go home to Magnus after I grab this promise ring and flowers. I finally founded a beautiful and perfect promise ring "I'll get that one please." I said as she explained to me how much it is and what it is made over then I hand over the piece of paper of what I want the ring to say "Ok so that's going to be $2000 and 400 hundred dollars. And it will take about 45 minuets for us to put the writing into the ring." I pay her the money "Do you mind if I come back soon as I pick up something?" I ask her "I don't mind and go ahead it should be done as you come back." She said to me then I leave the shop it closes at 8pm so I still have some time I go to the local flower shop I get some random flowers and a little note for Magnus to read then I pay for the flowers I go back to the shop and I pick up the promise ring it's time to head home I place the promise ring in my pocket.
Magnus POV: I finished working on my spells for the day I look over the clock it's 7:35pm I go over to the kitchen I decided to make dinner I work on making zucchini spaghetti with chicken, broccoli, snow peas, carrots and some type of sauce and for desserts I'm making chocolate hearts with different types of fillings. I started making dinner I already finished doing dessert it didn't take too long to make the dessert then I feel hands wrapped around my waist "You are too sweet." It was Alexander's voice I had a smile on my face "Dinner is almost ready. You can put you're stuff in the office." He goes upstairs as I finished cooking dinner I'm just letting it heat up a little more I go over to the doors to outside and I lock the door I snap my fingers and the curtains cover the doors and windows I go over to the food and I put the food onto plates while Alec comes downstairs "Food looks great Magnus." He says as he kisses my cheek then he pulls out some flowers "Aww this is so sweet and adorable thank you Alexander I'm so speechless." I said as I put the flowers in some water and a vase they were so beautiful we sit down over the couch with some tables sometimes we sit in the living room watching shows or movies I make us both drinks and I turn on the tv and go onto Netflix we put on I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry it's such a funny movie we watch the movie while we eating. A few hours go by and we finished having dinner and watching the movie we didn't have the dessert yet I'll stay it tomorrow we just lay on the couch cuddling but then we fall asleep I guess we needed to sleep since we had busy day well tomorrow hopefully will be good it's Saturday so I don't think Alec doesn't have to go into work tomorrow I'm hoping so because I want to go to our place in Rome we haven't been there in 3 and half months because we've been busy with work.
Alec POV: I wake up seeing Magnus laying on my chest I check what time it is it's like 3:45am I slowly get up and I go over to our bedroom I slide the door open and I go back over to the couch slowly picking up Magnus he was in a deep sleep I hold him in my arms as I walk over to our room I close the door soon as I walk in with him I slowly place him onto the bed I go over and make sure no sunlight comes in because we might sleep in a bit longer I go over to the bed and I lay beside him placing the blankets around our bodies I start going back over to sleep I was tired then a few hours went by. I could smell food cooking I look over Magnus wasn't in bed then I saw a little card on my side of the bed I start reading it "Good morning sleepy head come and join me for breakfast I got you're favourite I love you Alexander." I started smiling so much I go out and I'm wearing sweatpants while no shirt on I go over to Magnus "Oh you're up sleepy head go and sit down I'll bring breakfast over." He says as he kisses my cheek I go over to the table and I sit down he comes over and he puts the plate down and a glass of orange juice and I take some painkillers then I look down at the plate it's two sunny side up eyes with some bacon and Magnus comes and sits next to me "Still in a bit of pain?" He asked me "Yeah but it should go away soon and I've been using the healing rune too." I replied then we start eating breakfast "Well least it's a nice beautiful day." I said "It sure is Alexander." Magnus replies as I take a bite of my food. Magnus and I finished our food "I'll be right back I'm just going to make a phone call." I said to him as I kiss his cheek "Ok don't be too long." Magnus says while he giggles I love seeing him so happy I go into the bedroom and I grab my phone I start texting Jace I hope he can message me back I really want to show him, Izzy and Clary the promise ring I know it's not an engagement ring but it's keeping a promise to him that I'll be here no matter what. God I love him so much his my everything and I'm his everything then I hear my phone beep finally Jace texted back I open my messages and I replied back
*Text messages*
Alec: Hey dude are you up???
Jace: why are you messaging me this early for...
Alec: Dude why are you tired for? Did you spend all last night doing Clary
Jace: NO! I didn't I had a late night training I couldn't sleep at all last night so I thought I would do some training for 3 and half hours so I went to bed at 4:20am
Alec: Oh ok well get up because I want to show you, Izzy and Clary something before I go back home
Jace: Ok I'll get up in five minutes mom
Alec: Hahaha
*text message ends*
"Hey is everything okay?" Magnus walks in and says it to me while sit beside me "Yeah everything is okay quick question what's your plans for today?" I asked Magnus "I don't think I have nothing on for today why?" He asked me "Well we should go to Rome for a while I can tell the institute that I'm going to work at home. But come on we haven't been at Rome for a while and plus I need to go down to institute to tell them that." I said "Ok we can do that I guess I'll start calling my clients and tell them that I'm filled up with work." He says and he leaving and goes into his office I quickly get dressed and I rush upstairs to grab the promise ring "I'll be back soon Magnus." I said "Ok Alexander." He says as I leave his apartment and I quickly run to the institute a few minutes later and I made it to the institute I take a few deep breaths because I was running to get over here a few seconds and I catch my breathe I head inside of the institute I go into Jace's room first to see if his awake or not I knock on his door it's unlocked I see Jace on his bed still sleeping I grab one of his pillows and I start hitting him with it good way to wake up someone or with ice water is another good way to wake him up "Ugh what the hell man..." Jace says half asleep "Get up I need to see you in the office. Or don't make me get some ice water and throw it over you." I said then he bounced up "Ok anything but that. I'll meet you in you're office I'll grab Clary and Izzy while I'm heading to you're office." Jace says and I leave his room to go to my office I finally reached my office and I go over to my desk I unlock the bottom drawer I grab my painkillers from my office and I place them in my pocket I lock the bottom drawer then I hear a knock on my door "Come in." I said then Jace, Izzy and Clary walk in and Izzy closes the door "Ok so what's going on? Is everything ok with you and Magnus?" Izzy and Clary say together "Yes everything is perfect between Magnus and I. Now you guys can tell everyone else but I'll be working at Magnus for a few days because I also need to rest up a little bit more so you guys can call me whenever and I'll talk." I said to them "Ok so what else is happening since you did wake me up." Jace says I grab in my pocket and I get out the ring "Is this an engagement ring Alec?" Izzy asked me "No it's promise ring I'm making a promise to Magnus but he knows that one day this promise ring will be an engagement ring." I said "Wow it's so beautiful." Clary says "Thank you. Now don't tell Magnus I want to keep this a surprise for him." I said then Izzy, Clary and Jace nods as I place the box back in my pocket "Ok well I'll see you guys soon then." I said. Then I walk back to apartment I grab my keys out of my pockets I unlock the door "Hey Magnus I'm back home." I said. Hm that's strange he answers me whenever I come home I go into the bedroom and I see him sleeping on the bed aww he looks so cute sleeping I grab my phone out of my pocket I open camera making sure it wasn't on flash and I take a picture of him sleeping I close the door and I go upstairs I go into the office and I place the ring in the drawer I lock it then I go over to guest room and I go onto to the bed and I fall asleep a few hours went by and I felt some hands shaking my shoulder I open my eyes it was Magnus "Hi sorry I felt asleep when you came home I was still tired." He said "It's ok I was still tired too." I replied "So should we start packing to go to Rome? I'm so excited to see it again." Magnus says to me "Sure um can you get my painkillers? it needs a little refill." I ask Magnus he nods his head and he walks off I quickly grab my carryon bag I unlock my desk drawer I quickly grab the promise ring and I put it in the bag then a few minutes ago by and Magnus and I portal over to Rome it was so beautiful we haven't been here for a 2 to 3 months it's night time so it makes it more beautiful "Let's go to dinner I'll drive." Magnus says "Sure." I smile as I replied we lock up the house and I give Magnus the kegs but I quickly go the front door of the car and I open it for him "Aww such a sweet gentleman." He says as he gets in the seat and I close the door I kiss his cheek I thought all day I'll do it tomorrow night to give him the promise ring because he has some friends here and he can spend a few hours with his friends while I'm at home set up he's going to be so happy. I love him so much
Magnus POV: I start driving the car and Rome looked so beautiful at night lights were bright different colours it made the night feel so magical and wonderful I'm so glad Alec and I are here spending some time here taking a break from our jobs and taking some time for ourselves we barely get some alone time since we're always working. I finally founded a nice beautiful Italian restaurant I park the car and I take out the keys I open my door then I shut it I go over Alec's door and I open it for him he had a smile on his face then I shut his door I quickly rush over and I open the restaurant door "You're such a gentleman today." He said as I smile we head into the restaurant "Hello and welcome table for 2 for today?" The waiter says "Yes." I said "Right this way." The waiter says leading us to the table it was a cute and beautiful setup it was like booth with lights around the booth and candles on the table I couldn't ask for anymore the waiter comes over and hands us the menu "How long has this place been here?" I asked "It's been here for 37 years but it hasn't aged a bit because we do everything to make it look like it's new." The waiter says while laughing "It looks beautiful and amazing." I said "Well just let me know when you're ready to order and thank you." The waiter says and goes away. I look over at Alec he looked so adorable in this light "Are you okay Alexander?" I ask him "Yeah why wouldn't I be? I'm here with the love of my life why wouldn't I be okay?" He said as he smiles and grabbed my hand he holds my hand i smile at him "You just still look a little in pain still. Is the painkillers helping? Because if it isn't I can try to use my magic to help you." I said to him "It's going to take some time to heal but it's probably 85% getting 100% heal but hey least I'm not going on any missions for a while. I'm fine I promise you and plus maybe afterwards you can use you're magic to speed the healing up a bit. I love you Magnus." He says to me "I love you Alexander." I replied back then the waiter comes back "Have you decided what you want yet?" She says "Um yes can I get the spaghetti with meatballs and a few pieces of garlic bread with a bit extra of butter. And for drink I'll have the blue Hawaii in a big glass." I said "And for you sir?" She says "I'll have the spinach and mixed cheeses lasagna and a side of a few prawns. And for a drink a glass of water." He says as she finished writing down our order "Ok no problem it should be out in a bit." She says and she leaves as Alec and I talk about things about our day and other things then a few minutes ago and the waiter comes back with our food and drinks "Thank you." I said "Yeah no problem and if you want anything else just let me know." She says as she leaves our table "Do you some painkillers right now." I asked Alec "Yeah sure." He says as I grab two out of a plastic bag in my pocket I hand them to him and he takes them "Well do you want me to drive us back home just in case if you have a few drinks?" He asked me "Sure." We start eating our food Alec had some of mine and I had some of his but that lasagna with the prawns together it taste so good I'm so glad Alec and I came here it was a nice place we finished eating and I had a few drinks in me. Alec and I was laughing while we was talking I payed for the bill and I left the restaurant waiting beside the car Alec is so beautiful I love him so much his my whole world I'm so lucky to be his in my life and he is so lucky to have me in his life I just start smiling because he makes me smile every day I don't know what I would do if I didn't have him in my life.
