Alec has been busy with working since that's what the head of New York Institute does and trust me it isn't a easy job to do but he pushes through it every time and what Alec does is a lot of meetings and missions he barely has time to go home to his fiancé Magnus Bane and Alec plays with his ring because he only plays around with it when he is either stressed, nervous or missing Magnus but him and Magnus has been planning out the wedding and at the moment their trying to pick out wedding cards to send out to the guests and they both decided that it'll be Alec's family and their friends are going to be invited to the wedding seeing them come together as one they have to do so many things but that's what happens when you get married everything to the wedding has to be perfect and no screw ups or else the person will get very angry but Magnus has told Alec if something goes wrong that they can easily fix it but if they be all stressed and not calm it's gonna be like hell opened in New York from Edom. Some nights Alec would fall asleep in his office because of the overpowering because of all the work and stressed one night Jace was walking around the institute it was midnight he was bored and couldn't sleep he walked passed Alec's office he saw that the night was on the door was closed he opened the door he saw Alec's head was on his desk passed out asleep Jace quietly walked over to Alec he grabbed his parabatai and placed him on the couch in the office then Jace goes to grab a spare blanket from his room he brings it back to Alec and he placed it over Alec's body Jace could tell how tiring Alec was from being the head of the New York Institute Jace quickly wrote a little note then he switched off the light he left Alec's office he closed the door and he hanged up the note letting everyone know not to wake up Alec even Jace could feel how tired Alec has been because of the work but he could also tell how much Alec was pushing he was pushing everything his training, his work, his missions and even the wedding plans Jace knew Alec should be taking a break from working but he doesn't want to stop working because Alec does know Jace could take care of things but still Alec was motivated to get everything done once Jace got back in his room he grabbed his phone and dialled Magnus' number Magnus told Jace if something is going on with Alec to let him know after 3 rings Magnus picked up "Hello Jace what's going on?" Magnus said "Well Alec he's very tired his overpowering himself through his work, his training and his missions I'm worried about him he shouldn't be pushing this hard through everything and I could tell he barely goes home and he falls asleep at the institute at his office I was wondering if you could stop by later on today or tomorrow to see if you can talk to him about having a break from working I'm sure he'll listen to you because since you are his fiancé and plus just try talking to him about to take a couple days off to refresh and feel less overworking could you do that?" Jace said to Magnus over the phone "I'll see what I can do and Jace just keep a very close eye on him for me please." Magnus said "Sure thing Magnus anyways I'll let you get some sleep thanks." Jace said and the call ended Jace placed his phone back and he felt asleep while Alec was still fast asleep he was just overthinking things while he was sleeping he also had a couple of nightmares which his body would shot up but he'll be asleep. When morning came Alec was still asleep Izzy was knocking on Jace's door "Hang on." Jace mumbled he was still tired but he got up but landed on his face he groaned then he got up he opened the door "Hey Izzy what's up?" He asked her "Um well I saw the note on Alec's office what's going on? Is he ok?" She asked Jace he opens the door more and she walks in he closes the door and she crossed her arms "Look Izzy. Alec is just pushing himself way too much with work, training, missions and with his wedding plans with Magnus he is overworking it he should be taking time off at the institute but he doesn't he just wants to get everything done and for the last couple of days I've seen him slowly drifting off to sleep and then snap back to reality but then late at nights I see him in his office his head on his desk fast asleep I don't know what's pushing him to fight to stay awake but he shouldn't be like this Isabelle he should be back home with Magnus resting up until his feel freshen and not so sleepy." Jace said to Izzy "Wow have you talked to Magnus about this?" Izzy asked him "Yeah I have. He'll probably come today or tomorrow I just hate seeing Alec like this even through the parabatai rune I can feel how tired he is." Jace said Izzy just sighed "Look you just better grab a chair and went outside the office door because you know what people are like. They'll probably try to wake him up without listening to the note." Izzy told Jace "Ok just let me get a shower and I'll meet you there just get a chair for me." Jace said then after a few minutes in the shower he finally got dressed he grabbed somethings to keep himself busy he walked out of his room he walked to Alec's office he saw Izzy there "Thanks Izzy but you shouldn't be staying here now because you are the weapons master you need to do you're job I'll be fine here and you can feel free to check up on me once you're on you're breaks just take you're time." Jace said to her she turned and slowly walking "Just let me know when he's awake." Izzy said and she left to go back downstairs while Jace just stayed up there making sure nobody isn't going to interrupt Alec from him sleeping there would be a few times where Jace would check if Alec was ok he could tell that Alec definitely tired and worn out but least Alec was getting the sleep that he actually needed without any interrupts from the New York Institute. After 2PM Magnus stopped by and Magnus stopped by Izzy's little office he knocked on the door "Come in." She said Magnus walked in and he tapped her shoulder "Oh hey Magnus sorry how are you?" She asked him and she gave him a hug he smiled "I'm doing well how are you? Have you heard any updates on Alexander?" He asked Izzy once they pulled away "I'm doing alright Magnus and all I know is that he's keeps turning and turning, sweating and his heart rate keeps going up a bit we don't know why. Does this ever happened when he was living with you?" She asked Magnus and for Magnus he knew a few things sometimes Alec would have a few nightmares Magnus would wake up half around midnight or around 3AM and Alec would be covered in his own sweat, screaming, his body shaking and he'll be whimpering out Magnus couldn't understand why Alec would have nightmares but it could be because everything that Max went through when Jonathan hurt Max and when Jace was the owl so maybe his body is just keeps playing it on his mind making him less focused but he knew that Max was safe at the Los Angeles Institute he didn't have to worry about Jonathan but he still a bit worried "He has a few nightmares here and there but he could be worried about something it just worries me sometimes because he promised me that if it ever got bad he'll try to get help for it but I guess he hasn't been getting any sleep that's probably why he's been working so hard because if he knows that his having trouble sleeping and have so many nightmares throughout the nights that could be why his forcing himself to stay awake and alert because he doesn't want to have the nightmares again." Magnus told Izzy she had a shock look on her face she knew that it could be honestly true and plus she knows that Magnus would never lie to her about something that has to do with her brother "I just feel so bad for him. I know we all have be through so many things that has happened but I haven't ever seen him like this not since we were young he had a few nightmares mom and dad didn't know why he was having nightmares I was confused when I saw him like it our parents had to do everything they had to went to the silent brothers, asking a few warlocks, getting the soul sword to see if there's anything that it could tell us what was going on and anything else that they could figure out what was happening they finally broke it but I don't think I remember what broke it but maybe you could find out." Izzy told Magnus he knew he would have to do anything to break the nightmares out of Alec's mind and to get Alec back on track without having any nightmares and nothing worrying that will maybe causes more nightmares "Thanks Isabelle now if you ain't too busy can you take me up to see how Alec is doing?" Magnus asked her even though he knew where Alec's office was but still he wanted some company a little so Izzy and Magnus walked to the office once they got there they saw Jace leading on the chair looking at a book both Magnus and Izzy was so confused they didn't know Jace actually read books since he called 'book club' code for hooking up someone "Ok what did you do with our Jace and when did he started reading?" Izzy said with her hands on her hips Jace looked up from his book "Well I'm bored what did you expected? And plus I started reading last week thanks to Clary for some reason it helps her think clear minded and I thought I would give it a chance to see if I like it or not and I am still trying to see if I like to read books or not. Oh hey Magnus he is in there asleep but he keeps mumbling his words while he is asleep I don't think he knows what's going on you can check up on him I'll be out here." Jace said and Magnus just nodded he reached the door handle he opened it he walked in the office he saw Alec was asleep on the couch the blanket over his body the pillow resting some of his head but the other side of his head was kinda off the couch Izzy closed the door when Magnus walked in more he walked over to his boyfriend he saw a bit of dark circles under his eyes there was a few tears down his eyes Magnus saw what Jace said that he was mumbling in sleep Alec was still doing but Magnus kneel down Alec "My sweet Alexander don't you worry I'm gonna trying my best to stop these nightmares I can tell right now it's eating you up and hurting you I wish I already knew what was going on but I'll ask everyone and trying to find the answers to stop this once and for all to make it easy for you just try you're best to fight it Alexander remember you're the strongest I have ever believed it fight it as much as you can don't let these terrible and awful nightmares win battle them and let yourself win." Magnus whispered and he placed a kiss on his boyfriend's forehead he moved Alec's head back on the pillow Magnus clicked his fingers and he used his magic to look through Alec's head Magnus just wanted to see what was going through Alec's mind since he started having these nightmares Magnus' eyes turned white and he was inside of Alexander's mind Magnus saw things that he hasn't saw in his life time he was shocked and confused but Magnus saw flashes of light popping up here and there Magnus could tell something is making Alec's mind go into these awful and terrible nightmares where he probably couldn't escape it until Magnus could figure out what is happening but he did see things that made Magnus knew that he probably would need everybody's help but also he would need Clary to draw these images that Magnus saw in Alec's head when Alec was having these nightmares you could tell that Magnus was worried he didn't know if his boyfriend was going to lose in these nightmares or might go into a coma because of it either way Magnus knew he'll do everything he could possibly do to make sure Alec doesn't have these nightmares ever again. Magnus' eyes changed back to his normal colour he released the magic he leaned over to Alec's ear "Don't worry Alexander I'm going to save you and make all these nightmares end for once and for all." Magnus whispered into Alec's ear he gave Alec a kiss on his forehead and he got back onto his feet Magnus left the room he walked out "So what's going on with him?" Jace asked Magnus and he realised that the book Jace was reading he put down "I don't know yet but I did went inside his mind to see if I could see anything." Magnus said "Did you find anything?" Izzy asked me "I just need to talk to Clary is she here? And I'll tell you after I do something with her." Magnus ask and Jace walked me to her room Magnus thanked Jace and Jace left to go back to his chair next to Alec's office Magnus knocked on Clary's door she didn't answer Magnus opened her door he saw her in the middle of the room drawing with her headphones in listening to music Magnus wouldn't lie when he was proud that Clary's drawing skills have been incredible and leaving anybody speechless but Magnus knocked a bit louder and Clary turned around she saw Magnus she took off her headphones "Hey Magnus." She said "Hey biscuit I need your help." Magnus said "Sure what's going on?" She asked him as he walked over to sat on her bed she closed her door "Have you heard about what's going on with Alec?" He asked her "Yeah I have. Magnus I am sorry for what's going on with him but what did you need my help for?" She asked Magnus and he told her everything so they spend around 2 and half hour getting these drawings exactly Magnus saw in Alec's head once the draws were done Clary texted Jace telling him to meet where Izzy was then Magnus and Clary walked down to the room Izzy was once Izzy, Clary, Magnus and Jace was in the room Izzy closed the door "Ok so I had to ask Clary to do something for me since of her art skills so since I did went into his mind there's different things going on in his head but there was also some bright lights I don't know what's going on but I think I'll have to ask a few of my friends to see if they know any answers. Jace do you think you could get in touch with Maryse to ask her what she remembers when Alec was like this when he was younger?" Magnus said and asked as Clary showed off the drawings both Izzy and Jace were shocked they haven't seen anything like this before in their lives they didn't even know what it was or it is but least they are going to do anything to help out Alec to make sure these nightmares stop for once and for all once Izzy and Jace stopped looking at the pictures Clary drew they took pictures of it on their phones since Magnus wants to take the draws and talk to his friends about it to see if anyone knew anything but he wanted to see if Brother Zachariah knew anything but Magnus will contact Brother Zachariah last since he doesn't know if anyone that's his friends know any answer about these things that's going on in Alexander's head. Once everyone left the Institute going for looking for answers Magnus was back at the apartment Clary drew multiple draws of what was in Alec's head so Magnus wrote a message on each piece of paper he sent as a fire message he sent it to every warlock that was is friend, other downworlders that was his friends and some really close ones that sadly became mundanes but in some ways some of them were happy but they would still help out Magnus through anything Magnus also looked through all the books he had at his apartment hopefully finding some type of answer he was frustrated because so far there were no answers of what these things could be but Magnus wasn't going to give up on hope so easily he would do anything to help out Alexander he didn't treat Alec any differently when he took his time to fully accepted himself for being gay and not being in a serious relationship before meeting Magnus but for Magnus he might have over17,000 ex's but that didn't stop him from the one person that made him feel wanted and doesn't care about just for his magic Alec cares about Magnus Bane the guy he made him realise if he didn't came out he could probably be still acting straight and being married to Lydia Branwell living a life where he wouldn't be happy if he hadn't fallen in love with Magnus but Magnus knew Alec felt in love with him because Magnus is wise, his generous, his brave, his incredible and when he walks in a room there's a spark in him with or without magic he lights up everything and everyone in the room and Magnus couldn't lie when he says he does get a bit of tears here and there when Alec has to remind him because if it wasn't without Alec who knows what would have Magnus done Magnus can't describe how much he is truly grateful that Alec has came into his life and changed it for the better there are times were they do get into arguments, not talk to each other at times, crying on each other's shoulders and comforting each other at the moments of sadness but they push through it like it's nothing but they know whenever a time gets a bit rough to tell each other and not keep it a secret. Magnus got a few fire messages back some of his friends had some clues and had a feeling what it could or couldn't be but Magnus knew maybe Brother Zachariah would know the answer to it since he knew anything Magnus could the last lot of draws and sent a fire message to Brother Zachariah he was Magnus' kinda of last hope but he'll go around to everyone who replied back to him to check it out. While Magnus was checking things out Clary fill Simon in on what's going on with Alec they both went every shop and place that Magnus texted Clary and Jace every location possible looking for answers for Alec's nightmares they went to every spot while Jace was waiting for Maryse to call him back he left a voicemail for her because she didn't pick up her phone everyone decided to meet up with each other once they got something that could possibly help out Alec with these terrible nightmares Clary had a bag full of books that some warlocks gave her and told her to give it to Magnus because Magnus put in his fire message that some of his friends would pick them out because he'll be using portals to get around to his other friends "Do you think will find an answer?" Simon asked Clary "I don't know Simon I'm just hoping we could save Alec from this because I can tell how sad Magnus is getting he hates feeling this vulnerable even with someone he actually loves, cares about and cherish." Clary said as she kept lifting the bag over her shoulder the books are so heavy but Clary is hoping that there is some information for Alec's nightmares because either way it wouldn't be a pretty sight to see if they couldn't help out Alec through the nightmares Jace was walking down the streets of New York with Isabelle "How are you holding up?" Isabelle asked Jace "I don't know what you want me to say Isabelle it's like I can feel his physical pain without any physical impact from him but I can sense his fear his scared Izzy it's like he's reaching out for help." Jace said back to her but then Isabelle clicked "What if that's what he needs?" She said at loud "What are you talking about Iz?" Jace questioned "What if Alec is trying to reach out for help from you or Magnus or both of you since you're his parabatai and Magnus is his fiancé. What if he is searching around in his head oh my god in one of the drawings that Clary drew it looked like there was a maze in Alec's head maybe his self consciousness is going in circles trying to break out but can't because something is holding him there that's why you're feeling like he is reaching out because he is." Isabelle said and she quickly pulls out her stele she sends a fire message to Clary and Magnus "Let's just hope they get it. Come on we need to get the rest of Magnus' friends suggested." Izzy said to Jace and they both ran to everywhere. Magnus left one of his friends he gotten something he portal it back to his apartment he was meeting up with Brother Zachariah when he was walking to meet up with Brother Zachariah he grabbed the fire message that Izzy wrote he was shocked and maybe that was the case because he was mumbling in his sleep maybe that was some kinda of way to let him know that he needs the help and that he is scared once Magnus reached where Brother Zachariah was he saw him just sitting on the park chairs with fog crawling in Magnus sat next to Brother Zachariah "Magnus Bane my dear friend I got everything that could possibly recognise what's going on with Alec I hope you find out what's going on my friend I know how much he means to you." Brother Zachariah thought "Thanks I'll return these to you once I'm finished with them I don't want you to get in trouble with the rest of the silent brothers." Magnus replied and Brother Zachariah handed Magnus everything that he had with him and Magnus nodded then he made a portal and left he headed back to his apartment while everyone else made their way to his apartment Magnus started looking through the things that Brother Zachariah gave him so far there was no answers once everyone entered Magnus' apartment they set everything down "Ok Clary, Simon and Isabelle start looking because it seems like we're gonna be here for a long night and Jace go back and get Alec bring him here just make sure nobody will see you sneak him out." Magnus said "Ok Magnus I won't be long." Jace replied back then he left everyone started looking through the books and everything they gotten from Magnus' friends while they are doing that Jace was getting Alec Jace had to sneak into the institute without people knowing that he is there it was a little tricky Jace had to wait until people were around the corner once Jace made it to Alec's office he opened the door a little bit and he snuck his way into the crack of the door then he closed the door very quietly he went over to the couch where Alec was sleeping Jace saw that Alec was still mumbling things in his sleep he was getting really worried for his parabatai he didn't know if anything was going to help or not but he is just hoping that Maryse and Magnus find an answer to end these nightmares Jace felt his phone buzzing in his pocket he quickly reached into his pocket and he saw it was Maryse calling him and the reason Jace had his phone on silent because he didn't wanted to get caught sneaking back into the institute he swipe to answer her call "Hey Maryse I'm so glad you called look I'm hoping you got my voice message." Jace whispered and he had to grab his stele he quickly wrote Clary a fire message letting her know what's going on "Look Jace this thing it's a....." Maryse said to Jace over the phone. Clary catches the fire message "Jace will be here soon I just got to portal him soon he is just on the phone with Maryse at the moment." Clary said "By the angel I'm hoping he'll be here soon I don't want Alec to slip too far from whatever this thing is." Izzy said but Magnus just kept his mouth shut he didn't want to lose Alec because Alec is so special to Magnus but also to his family as well "Magnus... Magnus...." Clary called out to him Magnus didn't realised that he was in a train full of thoughts he looked up she walked over to him "Are you okay Magnus?" Clary asked him "Yeah I'm alright biscuit don't worry about me." He replied to her but Clary knew something was up she walked over to Izzy she whispered in her ear then Izzy grabbed some of the books and walked away Clary went over to close the door she walked back over to Magnus "Magnus come on you can tell me anything I'm pretty sure my mom had some conversations with you." Clary said and Magnus looked up at her "I'm just worried about Alexander biscuit what if I don't do a good job at saving him and he slips away? What if it'll be my fault?" Magnus said and Clary placed her hand onto Magnus' shoulder "Magnus trust me you're a great warlock you've helped me and everyone multiple times which we can't thank you enough but trust me I can see everyday that Alec loves you Magnus you can easily tell how much happier he is whenever his with you so don't trust out because you'll give it all you got and we'll help you out." Clary said to Magnus he smiled "Thank you biscuit." Magnus replied back then Izzy entered the room "Clary you need to get Jace like right now." Isabelle said as Clary started drawing the portal rune "I'll be right back." Clary said and she left in the portal. Jace finished talking to Maryse not that long ago that's why he sent a fire message to Izzy to let her know Jace kneeled down where Alec was laying "Don't worry Alec we're gonna try everything to get you back just keep fighting don't slip please we can't lose you Alec." Jace whispered Clary came through a portal that landed straight into Alec's office she walked over to Jace she placed her hand onto his shoulder "How is he holding up?" She whispered and Jace whispered back "His still mumbling in his sleep but Maryse did tell me what she remembered when he did this when he was young." He told her he got up and went over to grab the piece of paper of everything that Maryse told him about "Come on we better head back to Magnus'. Did you leave a note?" Clary whispered "Yeah I did I just said that Alec had a family emergency and he had to go." Jace whispered back and he handed the paper to Clary she placed it in her pocket while she was working on getting a new portal open Jace went over to pick up Alec he placed Alec's whole body over his shoulders Alec was a bit heavy but it was ok Clary finally got the portal open they both walked through it and landed back at Magnus' apartment Clary quickly got Magnus and Isabelle they both came out "Follow me." Magnus said and Jace kept Alec over his shoulders Magnus slide the door to the bedroom open Jace placed Alec down on the bed Magnus could see Alec's mouth mumbling Magnus wouldn't be lying if he said his really worried about Alec hoping that he'll be powerful enough to save Alec. Magnus placed a soft kiss on Alec's forehead and he whispered in Alec's ear "Don't worry Alexander I'm going to do everything I can to help you I promise." Once Magnus got up he walked over to the door he switched off the light he walked out and closed the door Jace and Clary was looking through the books looking for the same information as Maryse gave Jace "What you got there?" Magnus asked Jace "Maryse told me everything she could remember but I'm trying to see if anything from these books has the information like this." Jace replied back and he handed the piece of paper to Magnus but once Jace did that Magnus' eyes open very widely "What?? What is it Magnus?" Clary asked him Magnus was left speechless he quickly went into his office he got out the things Brother Zachariah gave him he used his magic to quickly go through it Jace, Isabelle and Clary walked in "Whoa... What's all this stuff?" Isabelle and Jace asked at the same time but Clary had a feeling where Magnus got this from "It's from him again isn't it Magnus?" She said and he nodded back just looking through everything until he founded something "What are you talking about?" Jace asked her "When you were the owl under Lilith's control Magnus and I were looking for answers on what she was and Brother Zachariah helped out Magnus but he knew you're father Jace and he told me while Magnus was there that you're request was in to see the silent brothers for help but when Lilith took control you never went." Clary said to Jace he was shocked but Jace wasn't happy about what Lilith did to him it made him weak, vulnerable and didn't wanted to hurt anybody but he wasn't in control Lilith was torturing him making him think that he was killing Clary over and over again but lucky Magnus sacrifice everything so Jace could be free of being the owl and being free over Lilith but Jace honestly wanted to kill Lilith for making him doing the most terrible and awful things to those people Jace got lost in his own thoughts that Clary had to snap her fingers "What's going on?" He said but then Magnus finally found it "Oh my god." Magnus said out loud "What is it Magnus? What did you find?" Clary asked him "I founded out what this thing is." He said "So what is it?" Isabelle asked "It's a...." Magnus said.
