I sit up in my room staring at the ceiling. It was 3:00 am. I couldn't sleep. Didn't really want to sleep. My phone bings beside me. I pick it up confused. Sam's name pops up from a text.
Sam: you up!?
Sam: hahahahaha see what I did there. Copied you!Me: stfu.
Me: yeah I'm upSam: wanna go for coffee?
Me: honestly I was just thinking about that. So yes please
Sam: want me to pick you up or do want us to walk?
Me: pick me up maybe?
Sam: sure thing. I'll see you in 2
And he did. He came to my house in like 2 minutes.
"Hey" I said getting into Bec.
"Hey" He says. He was wearing a white hoodie with sweatpants. He starts driving. "So... am I ever gonna get the real reason why you have insomnia?" He asks.
"what do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, I just can't sleep doesn't seem like a good reason?"
"Thoughts, and shit" I shrug. "What about you?"
"I told you, my brain can literally not shut off at night. But I know you're lying to me" he scoffs. I bite my lip.
"Fine believe what you want" I shrug.
"Why won't you tell me?" He asks.
"Because I did" I mutter. I don't like talking about my nightmares. The only thing Austin and Stella know is that I have them. And that's all. I have nightmares about the accident. I don't talk about it to them fully ever.
"Fine I won't push it" he mutters back.
"Why don't you believe me?"
"Cause you suck at lying completely" he remarks.
"I'd like to say I'm a pretty good liar," I state.
"So you are lying!"
"No. I never said that" I say. He parks the car cause we were there I was about to get out of the car.
"Is it the accident?" He asks. I turn to face him. He was looking at me. Of course he knew. This idiot knew everything. About me. It sucks. I sigh.
"Yeah it's the accident" I mutter. "I have nightmares."
"Oh" he says. "That sucks."
"Yeah, So I don't like sleeping because I know I'll have them, and there's that off time where I do get tired and fall asleep by then I have the nightmare and wake up and so I just stay awake now. And now I have insomnia and never want to sleep" I sigh.
"Sorry if I pushed."
"No it's fine" I shrugged. "I mean, only Austin and Stella know, but I don't tell them a lot."
"You don't like talking about it?" He asks.
"Not really. Kinda depressing and just a mood killer."
"I mean sometimes it helps though" he says.
"I'm a closed off person."
"I can tell" he nods. "Like a lot. I can tell a lot" he chuckles a bit.
"Whatever. Shut up" I push him he laughs. "I swear it's only you that can tell these things, cause no one else notices" I mutter.
"I'm an observer. Plus I read people like crazy" he says.
"Mm-kay, let's go get our coffees" I said getting out he follows.
"Good talk Jo, now let's go get a cup of joe!" He says and laughs loudly at himself I roll my eyes.
"How funny assface" I said he laughs harder as we get into the store.
"It's pretty funny, I don't care what you say" I states and I laugh a bit.We get the coffees and then go back to the car.
"Would you like to go for a drive?" He asks turning the car on.
"Sure, why not" I nod.
"Cool, Let's go" he says.
"You remind me of a dad sometimes" I admit and he laughs.
"I don't know how to take that. Like an actual dad or a daddy?" He says in a weird sexual voice and I laugh.
"Oh my god, I said dad, if I meant daddy I would've said it" I laugh sipping my coffee.
"Well either way, I wouldn't have been offended. So thanks" he says and I laugh.
"Is daddy a thing to you?" I asked.
"Like a girl calling me daddy?" He questions.
"Yeah" I nod.
"Not really no, but you know as a joke it's fine" he shrugs. "But I just would hate the thought of a girl calling me daddy though. It's freaky" he says and I laugh.
"But like someone being like you're a daddy?" I asked.
"Why are we having this conversation?" He laughs stopping at a red light.
"It just came up" I shrug. "Kinda funny."
"What would you like to call Dylan daddy?" He looks over to me.
"Oh my god!" I scoff. "No way, like yeah he is daddy in the looks but so are other guys I would never call him it."
"Am I a daddy?" He asks starting to drive once the light turned green.
"You want an honest opinion you won't get like grossed out or offended?" I asked.
"Promise."
"Yeah you are" I nod.
"Thanks for the honesty. I already knew I was" he smirks I roll my eyes.
"Whatever" I mutter he laughs.
"If it makes you feel any better so are you."
"Bitch I know" I say he laughs.
"Daddy's" he smiles. "It should be our nicknames names for each other. Daddy J and Daddy E" he says and I burst out laughing.
"People would be like wt fuck."
He laughs.
"Who cares" he shrugs.
"Sure whatever. I'm fine with it" I shake my head laughing.
"It's kinda, weird isn't it?" He asks.
"Kinda. Like 'hey daddy E'" I said and we both laugh.
"Like that yodelling Walmart boy. DAaAaAAaDyY!" He says and I laugh harder.
"Oh my god."
"I know I'm funny" he grins.
"Totally" I nod. "You're so funny" I say sarcastically.
"Wow. No need to be rude" he says.
"Sorry" I laugh. "Not really."
"I know you aren't" he laughs. I open my window. "You never are."
"Hey! Lies" I state.
"Completely true" he says.
"Whatever" I look outside. Tonight was pretty good, not gonna lie.~
Sam dropped me off back at home at literally 5:00 am. I go up to my room the sun was starting to rise. Maybe I should take a shower and then get dressed.
So I did do that. And by the time I was done my dad was awake getting ready for work. I walk into the kitchen to make myself a coffee.
"Hey, you're up early" he says.
"Yeah, I woke up before my alarm" I nod. I didn't want to worry him with my nightmares. He knew I had them but he kinda thought they stopped once I started staying up all night.
"Oh, well I'm heading off to work you can get someone to drive you right? I've been having to go early because of the side " he says kissing my head.
"Yeah I can Bye, love you" I reply.
"Love you" he says and leaves. I finish my coffee in a to-go cup. I head upstairs. Thank god I still have an hour my hair dries quick when I air dry it anyways. I fix my eyebrows hair quickly. I honestly am not the girl to do full glam on a school day. Or really any day.
I was wearing my sweatpants cause I honestly don't give a shit. Everyone knows that. With a white top that was tied up. I keep my hair out cause I was air drying it. I ask Sam if he can pick me up. It's kinda becoming a thing. An hour later he replied 'of course' and I was waiting with my vans on and my bag and phone.
