"It was so sweet, thank you so much for helping him with it Gaby" Emily, Gray's girlfriend of six months says to me with an abrupt hug which I awkwardly return
"Oh it's no problem Em" I say with a smile
I like Emily she's sweet, but sometimes she's a little to peppy and happy all the time if you get what I mean.
"Hello to the two most important women in my life, my best friend Elle" Gray says hugging me
"And my girlfriend Em" He says kissing her on the lips and I smile at him
I'm glad he's happy.
"I was just thanking her for helping you with the date yesterday" She says with a smile and he scoffs
"She only agreed if I bought her two tubs of Nutella ice cream" He says with a smirk
"Hey that's the least you can do since you practically sat back while I did everything" I say rolling my eyes with a smile and he chuckles
"You didn't even help?" Emily asks with a voice of disappointment
Oh no.
"No Em he did I just really wanted it to be absolutely perfect so I kinda took over" I lie
Gray was to tired from football to help.
"Oh okay well thank you" She says with a small smile which I immediately return
"Alright you too I gotta go but I'll see you guys later" Emily says giving Gray a quick kiss and giving me a quick hug and we wave to her as she leaves and Aiden sighs in relief
What?
"You good?" I ask and he just nods
"Any plans tonight?" He asks
"Mmm besides a shit load of studying for my math test in two days, nope why?"
"Mom and dad have been bugging for you to come have a dinner at the house, moms making your favorite tonight, Fettuccini Alfredo" he says with a grin causing me to gasp
"Aww she is?" Well of course I'm coming now" I say causing him to laugh
"Let's go then" He says grabbing my wrist gently and leading me to his car
"You gonna invite Em?" I ask getting into the passengers seat after he opens the door for me
"Nah, she doesn't really like the family dinners to much" He says with a shrug
"What? Why not? Your parents are amazing" I say
They really are.
But he just shrugs again and remains quiet while driving and I decide not to push the subject any further.
We finally pull up to Gray's parents house which is a beautiful all white two story home with the most spectacular garden.
Like always, Gray opens my door for me to get out like he always does.
We then quickly make our way up the steps to the front door which Gray just casually opens letting himself in since it's his home after all.
"Mom! Dad! We're here!" Aiden shouts taking my coat from me and hanging it up
"In the kitchen!" Karen, Aiden's mother shouts and he leads me to the kitchen
We walk into the kitchen to see her cutting up various vegetables and throwing them in a bowl to create a salad. As soon as she sees us her eyes light up.
"Finally you guys are here!" She says wiping her hands with a cloth and coming to us immediately and pulls me into a tight hug even before her own son.
I love her.
"Oh my god hun it's been so long!" She says hugging me tightly which I immediately return
"I know I'm sorry I've just been so busy with everything" I say sadly as we pull away and she gives me a sympathetic smile
"Of course hun I understand" She says softly and I smile
"And theirs my handsome boy" She says bringing Gray into a tight hug as well and he chuckles
Mama's boy.
"Dinner will be ready in five minutes, go join your father in the dining room" Karen says and Gray nods
"Need any help?" I ask like I always do
"Oh no hun I've got it you go sit and make yourself at home" and I nod giving her a grateful smile and follow Gray into the dining room
"Hey dad" Gray says to his father who is watching the football game
"There's my son" He says with a bright smile pulling Gray into a tight hug
"And most importantly the beautiful Gabriella, we've missed you around here sweet heart" Andrew, Gray's father says pulling me into a tight hug which I immediately return
"I know I'm so sorry I've been distant it's just with everything going on it's just I don't know been complicated" I say pulling away and tears begin forming in my eyes
"You young lady don't dare apologize to me, Karen and I are just so glad you're okay" He says and I nod
"I'm hanging in there" I say with a small smile
"You're not alone in this, and I'm gonna do whatever I can to help you, and your family get through this okay?" He says and I nod and we hug again
Gray's father is a lawyer and is working for us on my mothers case against my father and I couldn't be anymore grateful.
"Alright dinner is ready!" Karen shouts and we all walk over to the table to have a seat and quickly begin eating
Karen's cooking is the best.
"So um I actually have an announcement to make" I say softly and all eyes are on me now
I look to Gray and he gives me a nod of encouragement.
I can do this.
"My mom has decided to sell our house" I say
"Oh honey I'm so sorry" Karen says
"No no it's a good thing, to many bad memories in that house" I say quietly and they nod understandingly
"You should have told me hun I could've helped" she says
Gray's mother is a real estate agent and I would've asked her except she works to sell houses in California not Nevada.
"I would've but you can't exactly help in this situation" I say and she looks at me confused and I take a deep breath
"We've decided to move to Nevada"
