"Gaby!" My mom shouts
"What?!" I shout back
"Bring me some trash bags!" She says and I immediately grab some and walk into her room that's filled with clothes and shoes
"Thanks" She says grabbing it and stuffing clothes in
"You're already packing? We don't move for another two months" I remind her
"I know but since I already bought the house we can start sending our things there and your aunt Michelle said she'd start unpacking at our new house" She explains and I just nod
"Well um I got class in twenty, so I'll see you later for dinner?" I ask
"Actually no, Shelly and I are gonna have drinks at her place" she says and I just nod
"Okay see you tomorrow then" I say softly and she smiles
"Have a good day" She waves and continues her packing
Ever since my father was arrested my mom hasn't been the same with me. And I know exactly why. She feels guilty that I had to be the one to finally save her and that I had to make the choice to have my dad arrested because she never had the guts too.
When I get to my car and drive to campus I immediately see Emily sitting on the bench with her hands on her face crying.
"Em?" I ask softly but she doesn't move
"Em are you okay?" I ask a little louder getting closer to her
"Ugh does it look like I'm okay?!" She shouts flinging her arms around and I recoil
"Um what's going on?" I ask
"Oh like you don't know" she spits
"What? I seriously have no idea" I say frustratedly
"Grayson dumped me this morning!" She cries
What?
"Oh Em I'm so sorr-don't!" She shouts cutting me off
"I should've known this would happen since it's clear you guys are into each other!" She shouts
Into each other? What the hell is she talking about?
"Emily what the fuck are you talking about?" I ask
"Ugh just forget it you clueless idiot! So you and Grayson just leave me alone!" She shouts before finally storming away
What the actual fuck just happened?
I need to find Grayson now.
Unfortunately I only see him when we have class so I can't scream at him until after.
"Hey Elle" He says when I sit next to him but I just give him a glare and turn my attention back to the board
"Hey what's going on?" He asks putting his hand on my arm but I rip my arm away
"After" I hiss signaling we'll talk after class and he sighs with a frown for the rest of the class
After class we walk out of class to our usual hang out spot and he follows close behind me and when I take a seat and look at him he looks nervous as hell probably thinking I'm gonna scream at him.
He hates when we fight more then anything.
"Did you tell Emily you had feelings for me as a way to help you get out of being with her?!" I shout and his eyes widen
"What?! No!" He shouts
"Then why does she think that?!"
"Because she's crazy!" He shouts and I groan in frustration
"Great well now she hates me" I sigh
"Who cares" he groans
"I do! She was my friend and she was nice! Why did you even dump her?" I ask
"Ugh I already told you it's cause she's clingy and annoying and I couldn't take it anymore"
"Oh my god you're such a jerk Gray! It's cause she really likes you hello!"
"Well I just don't like her back anymore okay" He says avoiding my gaze
"Alright fine" I say beginning to make my way to my car
"Oh come on Elle are you seriously mad that I broke up with her?" Gray asks running after me
"Oh god of course not, I'm just mad at the fact that she thinks it's cause you're in love with me like where the hell did that come from?" I groan running my fingers through my hair like I always do when I'm stressed
"Like I said she's crazy Elle, she's crazy and jealous and probably just thinks that cause we're close but she's not able to realize it's only cause we're best friends" he explains and I just nod
"Okay well I'm sorry for shouting at you I didn't mean it" I tell him and he smiles
"It's fine" he says pulling me into a hug that I immediately return
"And if she bothers you let me know, I'll take care of it" he promises kissing my forehead and I just nod again
"Ugh their you guys are!" Kim's voice says breaking us apart
What the heck did you do to Emily Grayson ?" She asks pushing his shoulder
"You told her?" He asks me
"What? No, how did you find out?" I ask her
"Well after class she came up to me and warned me not to be friends with you anymore because you're a "back stabbing bitch that stole her boyfriend" she says causing my jaw to drop before bursting into laughter
"Oh my goodness you've got to be kidding me" I managed to say through my laughter
"Can you believe this?" I ask Gray who's trying hard to conceal his smile
"Told you she's crazy" he says with a shrug
"So I'm guessing she lied?" Kim asks also beginning to laugh
"Of course she is you dummy, like Gray and I would ever get together" I say and look over to Gray to see a of hint a frown
What?
"You don't have to say it like it'd be the worst and most impossible thing ever" he mumbles
"Oh my god I'm not it's just come on Gray you know it's crazy" I tell him and he just nods not saying a word
"Right well now that that's been said can you give me a ride home?" Kim asks me
"Sure" I say before turning to Gray
"See you tomorrow?" I ask him and he just nods again still not looking at me
What the hell?
"Bye Grayson!" Kim says before walking to my car and he smiles at her giving her a wave before walking away and not even acknowledging me
Well then.
But I just shrug it off and head to my car.
