"so."

"so..."

"yeah."

"harry, why exactly are we over here?"

"i dunno."

"usually we have a life lesson to talk about."

"but it seems like everything is fine."

"i mean, now we know that truth about niall."

"so we don't have to hear your stories anymore, really. you can just text them to us."

"maybe i just wanted you guys over, okay?"

"uh-oh."

"take back what you said, liam, everything is not fine."

"no. it is fine. i'm sorry i used that tone of voice. it's just that i hate having to deal with so many problems in my life. and i hate to have drag you guys into it."

"is there still a problem?"

"not for you guys to handle. for me to handle."

"is this the whole niall gay thin-"

"yes it is! okay? this is not your problem, though, so you guys can go home if you don't want to be involved."

"you think we'd just leave you? you're going through as hard of a time as niall is."

"what do you mean?"

"i mean that the guy you like is in denial that he's gay. isn't that hard for you?"

"it's not as hard as hearing him cry."

"cry?"

"shit, i didn't mean for that to slip out."

"harry, what are you talking about?"

"niall was crying?"

"yes. well, not exactly."

"spill!"

"when you guys left after you got tired of waiting--"

"excuse me?"

"you heard me. anyway, when you guys left, he started snoring and stirring a bit. and then he started crying. it's the worst thing to hear. and he was crying in his sleep. i don't know if it was a bad dream..."

"he was snoring, he couldn't have been dreaming. you can't snore and dream."

"thank you for sharing that with us, liam. harry was telling a story though, so could you be a dear and keep your trivia to yourself?"

"thanks lou. i think it was his body reacting to earlier. but god, i can't get the sound out of my head. he's like, in my thoughts."

"you have it bad."

"wow, he's in your thoughts? niall horan, what have you done to harry?"

"you know, i've been thinking a lot about what you told me, louis. you said niall horan was a player, right? i don't think he plays hard to get, i think he is hard to get. as you said, boys chase after him. he still hasn't determined his sexuality, so when boys flirt with him and such, of course he's hard to get."

"that makes a lot of sense."

"harry?"

"liam?"

"be careful with him."

"why? he's not dangerous. his reputation doesn't prove anything about him--"

"no, i mean that he's delicate and you can't yell at him anymore."

"i've only yelled at him a few times."

"harry, he is just a few more conversations away from having a breakdown. then it will be a pattern, and a medical issue. he's not okay, so you need to be careful of what you say."

"he's not sick!"

"yeah, but he's going through a really rough time right now and he's probably hurting so much that he may as well be sick. i suggest you stay a few nights with him. there's no telling what that boy would do to himself."

"he's not sick! he's not depressed! for god's sake, he just doesn't know if he's gay or not!"

"he was raised to believe that girls were right and guys were wrong. he's questioning his family's values and his entire belief."

"that doesn't mean his life is in danger."

"you don't know that. you can't see inside his mind. you can't read his thoughts."

"neither can you!"

"exactly!"

"if you're so worried about him, i'll just go over there and check on him."

"no, you need to go over there and stay with him."

"now?"

"see if he's okay with it first."

"he might not be..."

"he's going to have to get used to it."

"what if i'm a bad roommate?"

"for god's sake, harry, niall could be going crazy right now and you're worried about whether or not you'll be a good roommate? you probably won't even sleep in the same room as him."

"huh. you're right. well, his couch is comfy."

"harry!"

"right, right. stay here you guys, i'll be back in a few minutes."
