"wait..."
"yeah, slow down harry."
"i can't! i just told you everything that happened!"
"that was it?"
"yeah."
"so you just went over to his house for like ten minutes and after only a little bit of conversation, he confessed he was romantically interested in boys and hugged you?"
"that's the gist of it."
"what?"
"i'm so confused. i thought you were going over there to set things right and confront him about his lies."
"i did! i confronted him about his lie about being gay."
"do you see what's wrong with the picture here?"
"no, not really."
"okay, listen. louis and i both talked to niall yesterday and he never even said you came over."
"wait, what?"
"yeah."
"maybe it's because we had a very personal conversation. that's probably why he didn't tell you."
"no, harry, that's not it because anything niall tells everything he knows to liam. do you know how many times liam has picked up the phone to a crying niall because he had just gotten with another boy? niall would be comfortable admitting he was gay. so your story doesn't make sense."
"hold on... do you not believe me?"
"to be perfectly honest, no, i don't."
"i kind of believe you, but like liam said, your story doesn't make any sense."
"do you not trust me?!"
harry was practically screaming at this point. his best friends were standing in front of him, while he was sitting on the blue couch.
"i trust you, but i just don't think that what you said, well..."
"happened."
"thank you for finishing my sentence for me, liam. really appreciate it."
"i can't believe you two."
"well, we can't believe you either."
"so, you're siding with a boy you've been friends with for over a year. you're not gonna believe your best friend who has been there for you since you were in diapers?!"
"i'm sorry, har."
"don't call me that, louis."
"don't you dare use that tone of voice with me, harry! i'm just siding with liam. liam is the smartest one out of all of us. niall would've told us about the conversation he had with you for sure, that's all i'm saying."
"what makes you think he trusts you guys so much?"
"what the hell are you talking about?"
"when he called you, liam, did he happen to sound drunk?"
"what are you going on about?"
"did his voice sound slurred?"
"actually, yeah, it did.'"
"louis, what are you talking about?"
"think about it liam. niall always called us at like 2 in the morning, so we assumed that was his sleepy voice. but what if he was drunk the whole time?"
"yeah. maybe he calls you when he's drunk, so that's why you can get so much out of him."
"i'm leaving."
"no you are not, liam."
"that is my best friend you are talking about! and now you're saying he doesn't trust me? i'm not listening to your bull shit!"
"whatever."
"go ahead, liam. you can leave. but while you're moping about at home, why don't you ask niall if he actually remembers any of the conversations you guys have had?"
"i will! come on lou, we have to go now."
"what? why do i have to come with you? i want to stay here!"
"because i didn't bring my wallet, which means i don't have my driver's license, and if i get pulled over i am not getting in more trouble."
"yeah, because you're going to get pulled over in the two minutes it takes to get to the house."
"you never know."
louis groaned and before he left, he smiled at harry.
"you sure do change your sides a lot, louis."
"nah. i just listen to reason."
