"what the actual hell niall?"

"that is no way to pick up the phone."

"no, screw you!"

"what are you talking about!'

"don't you dare! don't you dare act like you don't know what's going on!"

"i don't, honestly! why are you yelling at me?"

"i can't believe you!"

"oh my fucking god, what did i do?"

"you lied to them!"

"what?!"

"you told liam that i never came over! you didn't tell him about our whole conversation!"

"i did not! i was out all of last night! i don't even think i brought my phone with me."

"don't even start that. liam told me everything! he believed you over me."

"harry, i don't--"

"no! okay? liam has been my best friend ever since i was two weeks old! he doesn't trust me! you made him not trust me. he believes you. he thinks i made the whole thing up because you told him so."

"harry..."

"shut up, niall. i tried to help you! i really did, and look what happened. i may have just lost a friend. i got you to open up! apparently you tell liam everything, right? and you're a little fucking saint who doesn't lie. god, i can't believe you."

"shit."

"yeah, that's exactly how i feel. listen, i gotta go. liam is gonna get mad at me for calling you. you know, because you'll tell him."

"harry, can i explain?"

"what is there to explain? you stabbed me in the back."

"no, i didn't. listen to me. are you listening?"

"i don't have a choice."

"right. harry, i probably got drunk last and blacked out. i do that a lot."

"we were talking about that. you get drunk and tell liam everything. you did the exact opposite, my friend, so don't try to pull that."

"i was probably with some guy last night!"

harry's heart dropped.

"listen, harry, i'm still in freaking denial about me being gay. i still don't know if i can accept it. so if i don't think it's true, i will completely deny it. i'm sorry."

"wow. okay, that's great to know."

"harry, can you still come over today?"

"i... shit, i don't know. i don't know if i want to."

"please, i need to clear this up the right way. and i'll invite liam and louis over to tell them the truth too."

"liam won't come. not if i am going to be there."

"then i won't tell him. harry, please."

"i'm still mad at you."

"okay."

"i'm still very mad at you."

"i'm sorry, okay?"

"i'll be over there at 5."

"that's in ten minutes, though."

"then tell liam to hurry up and get over there."

"wait, harry--"

harry hung up.
