In The Morning

When i wake up in the morning and i see your face I'm happy,
Reminded everyday that I'm given, God's grace that you don't smack me,
I make a lot of mistakes I'm a man we bite the apple,
I have some visions that are grand 'failure's not the end' - a concept i have to grapple,
Hold on to me and don't let me go,
I just want you to see and want you to know,
You cannot let anyone steal the shine you cover me in when it's morning,
We're both working toward a better life and we're toiling,
Some people have insides that are boiling,
And you can not let them brand your soul with negativity,
Pondering your faults and weaknesses,
This wasn't the reason for nativity,
You cannot let anyone steal the shine you cover me in when it's morning,
Your smile alone makes me thank God the world is still turning,
And all the while while the negativity is still churning,
Without worrying - Repeat this to yourself,
"God alone gives me life so I can awake in the morning,
I am one half of a rock - a rock that is learning,
Every morning,
I awake with a shine so bright,
I dont intend blind people,
I want them to see,
That there is great power within me."
