What Goes Up Comes Down

Do you hear the sleigh bells jingling,
Ring, ring, ringing in the decorations,
Poinsettias, tree skirts, and ornaments,
The smell of cinnamon in eggnog pierces nostrils like hornets,
The holidays warrants the need to keep people close even if once pushed away,
Promise of gifts encouraged the stay,
What do we say about this day?
Paper and bows,
Prayer and contemplating goals.
