In collaboration with the lovely and amazing JanaJoubert -

I look over the oceans and wipe
One tear a time.
The waves splash their miseries away
As the moonlight dances over the droplets
Illuminating them, as if asking them to stay
Oh lover , what do I burn
To make you feel the intensity
Of my care , my love, my longing for you
Oh Beloved, how do I expose
My grotesque self, my ugly ugly soul
To such a beautiful being like you?

The ocean is a perfect thing, don't you think?
So perfect.
Like you.
Like the love of my life.
My heart beats in time to the crashing.
I feel myself floating away.
My love, your brown eyes take up my whole world.
Your strong arms give me strength.
Still you doubt yourself.

What will I do if the sun doubts it's own shine?
What will I do if the oceans stop nurturing life?
You are the droplets that make the sand shine
Why then, you try to rub off the rainbow that was mine?
Your fingernails have dried blood
Of all the times you scratched your soul
I will kiss each of them
For my heart, it's you who stole.

Until that dreadful day,
When you could no longer see the beauty,
Until you could no longer see the meaning.
Until that day when you could no longer hear my calls.
You left and now the ocean crashes my sorrow.

It's waves envelope my grief
It's sand stick to my fingers like the guilt sucking through my soul
The water retreats from my agonised toes
That once walked in the halls of your heart
And I watch the boat float away
The only hope of life I had.
