We are planning the Unity Ball today, so in the Prefect's Room sits Ron, Blaise, Ronan, Draco, Pansy, Luna, Ginny, and I.
"Black and white formal dress." I write in my notebook, "Any other theme ideas?"
"Masquerade! Since it's all about unity, having masks would pretty much force people to socialize with people from other houses!" Luna exclaims.
"I like it, mysterious and sneaky." Ron concedes.
"Masquerade, okay. All that's left is a date and committee leaders."
Draco pulls out a master calendar, "How about the 21st?"
"Sure," I scribble the date at the top of the page. "The committees are; decorations, music, posters, food, administration coordinator, and set up."
"I CALL FOOD!" Ron screams.
"Okay." I hand him a clipboard.
"I'll do decorations," Pansy volunteers, and takes her clipboard from me.
"Music," Blaise says, grabbing a clipboard off the desk.
"I'll oversee set up..." Luna remarks.
"Clipboard for you."
"That leaves me with talking to the administration.." Ronan signs, taking the last clipboard.
"On the clipboards are the tasks that need to be completed by your committee, "Draco explains. "Questions?"
"Who can be on the committees?"
"4th years and up."
"Is there a maximum number of committee members?"
"Nope!"
"Dismissed!" Draco calls a few minutes later. Then once they've all left, Draco turns to me, "Isla?"
"Yes, love?"
"Could we experiment, to see what brings out the veela?"
"Well, if you really want to, I wouldn't mind.." I supply.
As we walk back to our room, Draco slowly slips an arm around my shoulders. Automatically, I slip an arm around his waist, pulling him close. We climb through the portrait hole, hand in hand, and quickly ascend the stairs.
As the door shuts, I let instinct take over. I pin Draco against the door.
"Mmm, I like this," Draco hums, kissing my neck.
"I'm sure..." I chuckle, leaning backward, out of his reach. "But that's my job, darling." I kiss him slowly. "Tell me when it's happened," I drawl, my voice deepening.
We push the limits, kissing for minutes at a time, only stopping to catch a breath. When I lay Draco back on the couch he gasps.
"Finny, you're beautiful." He leads me over to a mirror, and my reflection shows me, but with red eyes, and gorgeous black wings.
"You should leave." I manage.
"Why?"
"We shouldn't push it," I stress, trying to control my instincts.
"Fine..." He kisses my cheek- which doesn't help my current state- and leaves.
A few hours later, I go downstairs to grab some food. I finally decide on making chocolate chip cookies. As I put the first pan in the oven, Ginny, Pansy, and Luna run through the portrait hole panicking.
Ginny sighs, seeing me out of my room. "There's been a development."
