ONE WEEK LATER
"I don't get it!" Ronan complains. "Egyptian magicians? Wouldn't we've learned those things here?"
"No, we have blood-type magic. What he did was ancient, lineage, mythical- magic. They are two completely different realms on the spectrum of magic." Draco tries to explain.
"And 'Ha-di' is the hieroglyphic that means destroy," I add.
"And this weirdo attacked us, why?" Ronan wonders.
"Probably because..." I trail off. "I don't know."
"And, why only the boys?" Ginny adds to the growing pile of questions there is no definitive answer for.
"Me." Ronan mutters, "I'm a Beckett."
"And I'm bound to her." Draco figures.
"Draco," Luna looks up. "do you remember that Magic Around the Globe class that our parents made us take?"
"Yes, but what does-"
"Egyptian magic draws power from...?"
"Artifacts! Luna, you're a genius!" Draco runs upstairs.
"Oh!" Blaise realizes, "I was in that class too! But love, if what you are assuming is correct, that means-"
"Nowhere is safe." Pansy panics and starts to pace.
"It says here in my old notes that for an Egyptian magician to cast a powerful spell, they must be, at max, 50 kilometers from an ancient artifact," Draco shouts, running back down the stairs. "But Luna, that means-"
"Nowhere is safe..." Pansy repeats, but slower than the first time.
"Please stop repeating that!" Ron begs.
"Ronan, this is bad. If that magician was from the House of Life or any of the 360 Nomes..." I worry.
"He could already be influencing our world..." Draco affirms the one thing that I wanted to be wrong.
