There comes a time
A point of realization really
That even though
Perhaps not every soul you meet
Is out for your bittersweet blood
But those that aren't
Couldn't have less care for your fate
Than they do at that very moment
And it's then
It all makes sense
It's a dog eat dog world
A life were every
Man, woman, child, and monster alike
Is out to serve themselves
And themselves alone
And in those oh so isolating moments
Of heart shattering realization
Over used pupils expand
And century old lungs shatter
In the heartbreak of the moment
It is debunked
Those who speak of ways
To never truly be alone
Are nothing but liars
And the worst kind.
For they not only lie
To the pessimistic world around them
But to themselves as well
And that is a greater sin
Than to fear loneliness
For we are all isolated
By the streams under our skin
No matter what the optimists say
And in place of a fib
Shall we not choose
To insert
The preprepared ache
Of abandonment•••
A/N: I'm sorry I've been neglecting acrostic and 'normal' (abcb) poems. I just.... i don't know. I just find it tends to flow easier when I write freeverses. That being said; I don't think this one is well written at all.
