Y/N POV

It's been months since I've been moved to the new New York Institute in America. Thankfully, I finished my work of establishing the institute and was granted the approval to move back to London.

Even though we wrote constantly, it was never quite enough. There was always that longing, that need, to be together and now that's it finally here, I can't wait. To finally be able to see him, his dark hair a mop across his forehead, sapphire eyes full of amusement, and his smile shining brighter than diamonds. But most of all, I couldn't wait to kiss him, his lips so soft yet firm against my own.

My hands fidgeted on my lap, my fingers twirling the ring on my finger. I admired the beautiful herons etched into the strong metal. It made me think I him every time I looked at it.

Seeing the familiar carriage from the docks, I smiled as my eyes immediately landed on Cyril.

Seeing me, his face pulled up into a wide smile. "Lady Y/N, it's so good to see you." He quickly grabbed my bags and loaded them into the carriage. "Oh it's so nice to see you, Cyril. I've missed you all so much."

His kind smile never left, even as we made it to the Institute.

Arriving at the large, gothic structure, my heart began to pound. Seven months and I've finally been able to see him. Cyril helped me with my bags, taking them to my room. Well, more like our room.

It was the moment that I stepped through doors that I was almost tackled with hugs. The first was Sophie, her small arms hugging my shoulders. "Oh how I've missed you, Y/N."

"I've missed you too, Sophie." Then followed Charlotte and Henry. Jem soon came after them. "Oh goodness, Jem, how I've missed you," I said as I hugged him tightly. "I've missed you too, Y/N."

But it was after I released Jem that I realized the one person I was expecting, was no where to be seen. My brows came together in confusion.

"He's out, but he'll be back in a bit," Jem said, his lips forming a small smile. I smiled weakly back, too anxious to really focus.

"But in the mean time, how about we go to the dining room. After all, dinner starts in about 10 minutes and Bridget has prepared a feast." I smiled as Charlotte lead us towards the dining room.

Sitting at the huge table, painting lining the walls, I began to get worried. It wasn't as if Will was ever really on time for dinner, but as we concluded the meal, my foot began to tap under the table. My hands clenched under the table cloth so no one could see my discomfort, though, that never stopped Jem from noticing.

"Don't worry, Y/N, he'll be here soon. I promise." Jem smiled gently, his eyes filled with a soft comfort.

"Thank you so much, Jem. I just can't wait to see him."

It was at that moment that the footsteps began behind the door of the dining room. Echoing down the hall, the became louder and louder. Every one tensed, staring at the door, waiting to see who would emerge from the hallway.
