I heard my alarm making that same noise again. I groggily put my hand over it to stop the noise. I glanced at the clock seeing it was 10 am on a Saturday. My eyes were too tired to open but as soon as I had woken up, I felt a hard kick or sting in my head. It didn't feel so good even when I'm thinking about the pain because it really hurts so bad.
I stood up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom and washed my face. I splashed water on my dry skin then put a skin cleanser to cleanse my face. After washing up, I then combed my hair and tied it up into a messy bun. I noticed that my eyes were getting all baggy from me pulling an all nighter everyday.
I was only wearing shorts and a long shirt over it. I went downstairs, barely balancing myself off since my head was aching and I couldn't feel like walking too much. I felt like I needed to drink water in order to freshen myself up. As I made my way downstairs, I sensed the smell of food from my nose. Mhmm it's smells delicious. Who's cooking? My question was answered when I saw the curly haired man in the kitchen.
Harry then turned around to go towards the plate on the counter and placed the food. I think it was bacon and pancakes. After putting the food on the plate, he noticed me and placed the pan down and removed his apron. He noticed me walking towards the counter and immediately opened the chair for me to sit in as he pushed it in after I sat down. He then spoke up.
"I made you breakfast" he said. His voice was a bit calm and I sensed a bit of nervousness from his tone. I tried to smile as he handed me a fork and a knife as I started to slice myself up with some food. "D-D you like it?" he stuttered at first, asking me how good was his cooking.
"Uh, it's good. Thanks" was all I could say since the last time we talked- or maybe argued was about last night's event. I mean, I wasn't feeling too good so I haven't had the energy to be mad at him and also it's still in the morning.
After taking a few bites, I noticed Harry getting a chair and sat across me. He also had a plate of his own and started taking bites. Me and him then became silent since it felt a bit awkward to talk ever since last night. I mean, I don't know if I should be the one to talk first or him.
"Also drink this" he gave me a drink that looked and smelled weird from afar" I asked him what is it and what's in it. He explained that it was a hangover drink in order to cure my hangover from last night since I drank a few glasses of alcohol. I pinched my nose to avoid the smell and started drinking it. The drink had the weirdest texture my tongue could feel but I was willing to do anything to get over this hang over I was having this morning.
I glanced at Harry taking a few sips from his glass of water and after setting down the glass, I feel as though he was about to speak, but I felt the urge to speak as well.
"Can we talk about last night?" we both said in unison. We were both in shock that the both of us wanted to talk about our encounter or argument together in a much calmer way.
"You go first" he said.
"No, you" I said.
"Uhm okay" he gave in and I heard him clearing his throat before speaking. "I just wanted to say how sorry I am for what happened last night" he started off as he pushed his plate aside and placed his elbows on the counter "I never meant to meddle in with your private life, but you know what happens when you go to parties like that. I just don't want you to make a mistake" he explained.
"Even if you weren't there, I'd still be safe. I wasn't drinking too much alcohol because I know what will happen if I get drunk. I know what will be my consequence if I push through with this party. I was only there to have fun" I explained my side of the story. I wasn't much of a party girl, actually I was, but I wasn't into the drinking. I was more into of having fun all through out the party.
"But you didn't even tell me when and where the party was. What if you haven't had a way back home? Your friend even got drunk. And she was your only ride home" he said. I looked down feeling guilty because he was right. Hannah was my only transportation in going home and I actually didn't think about that situation. He continued "What if I wasn't there to pick you up? What if whatever had happened between you and that guy- "
I then cut him off as I noticed where he was going next "Josh didn't do anything to me and I've explained this to you many times. We just kissed"
"Then why were you alone in the room?" he raised his eyebrow and crossing his arms. Here we go again.
"What's wrong with that? I feel like if you were with a girl, you'd do the same with her" I told him. I mean, what's the big deal? We kissed and had our alone time with each other. I mean, me and Harry had the same encounter before.
"Who was that guy anyway?" he said as he stood up getting another drink from the fridge. Before I could speak, I noticed his hand had a thick cloth wrapped around it. I then felt the need to ask him about it.
"Wait- what happened to your hand?" he looked down and caught me staring at his hand. He then immediately hid it behind his back as he avoided answering my question.
"Don't avoid the subject. Who was that guy?" I shrugged since I noticed he was getting a bit pissed that I answered his question with a question. Again, I wasn't in the mood to fight or argue back since I wasn't in the mood or had enough energy to ask him when he's not even interested with what had happened to his hand.
I then continued on answering his question "His name is Josh Manky, and he's just some guy that girls flaunt over him" I said trying not to be obvious with my feelings for him.
"Are you one of those girls?" he asked as he went his way over to the counter and raised his eyebrow at me.
"I mean I could, but am not" smooth Allana. There was a short pause as Harry spoke.
"Do you like him?" I noticed he was biting his inner cheek as he looked at me innocently. I looked up at him and stared into his eyes for a few seconds before answering. I then answered his question.
"Y-Yes" I quickly said but stuttered. I don't know why but I felt a bit guilty for answering him about my feelings for Josh. But it doesn't matter right? He's just my babysitter. There's nothing more I should feel about him other than being my babysitter.
"But I doubt that he'll do the same back at me. I mean, who would want to like girls such as myself? No one would have me as their first choice" I said. I guess my self-esteem wasn't always my first priority to look out on. It never occurred to me that I should be confident on who I am because it's just me. But that's the problem. I'm just plain me.
I noticed he was going to speak when I heard my phone vibrate in my pocket. I noticed it was a text from Hannah. Asking me to come over at her house after breakfast. I looked up seeing Harry getting nervous. "You okay?" I asked to make sure.
"Me? Oh yeah, yeah. I'm fine" he said as he was scratching the back of his neck. "Who texted you?" he asked.
"Hannah. She wants me to come over at her house" I said but asked permission first. "Can I go?" I asked nervously, hoping he would say yes.
"Well, okay then. But only at her house. If you need to go somewhere else, just text me, please" he told me. I smiled widely in excitement.
"Yes, of course. Promise!" I replied as I raced upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes since it was just her house I'm going to. I don't know why but I feel bad for Harry. He was going to say something before I received a text from Hannah.
Maybe he'll remember it when we talk again.
