His question took me by surprise. I just stood there speechless staring into his beautiful eyes.

"Friends," I managed to blurt out as I freed myself from his grip, "We were just friends."

His expression showed that he didn't believe me but he let it slide.

"Okay," he sighed turning his back to me and walking back to his apartment.

"Oh by the way," he stopped in his tracks with his back still facing me, "I like that Angel tattoo of yours."

I looked at my tattoo then back at him.

"It suits you," even though I couldn't see his face I could still feel the smirk plastered on his face.

I couldn't help but smile. "Oh yeah? And who told you I was an angel?" I crossed my arms as I lifted my brows cockily.

He turned around to face me, slowly walking closer, "Really now?" He mimicked my pose.

"Stop it," I chuckled hitting him lightly on his shoulder.

Out of nowhere Ethan lifted me up, tossing me over his shoulder.

"Ethan!" I yelled.

"That's what you get for hitting me," he laughed.

I struggled to free myself from his grip while he just continued laughing.

"Ahem?" We heard someone clear their throat.

Lexi stood there with her arms crossed over her chest as she gave me a death glare.

Ethan quickly put me down as soon as he saw her.

She redirected her gaze back at Ethan, "Are you ready to go?"

"Sure just let me get my car keys," he mumbled before hurrying back into his apartment.

She approached me with her arms still crossed, "Back the fuck off my boyfriend," she hissed.

"Your boyfriend?" I scoffed.

"You heard me," she flipped her hair to the side, "He'll never remember you so just give up."

"And what if he remembers you cheating on him? What will happen then?" I raised my eyebrow.

She smirked, "I don't know what he saw in you to be honest."

"I'm ready to go," Ethan said walking out of his apartment.

She quickly put a smile on her face as she leaned in to kiss him.

My heart sunk.

I just stared at the ground not wanting to witness that.

"I love you," Lexi fluttered her lashes, playing with a strand of her hair as she stood in front of Ethan.

"I love you too," Ethan responded.

But what made my heart sink more was that he was not looking at her, but he was looking directly at me.
