Present time
"Aloe Vera is used for soothing burns and healing the wound.." Yukio said as he points at the picture in the book.
"Aloe Vera..." I whispered as I tried to spell the plant in Kanji but I miserably failed. Yukio let out a small laugh as he noticed my mistake.
"Let me help you." His fingers found my hand. His hand guided me to write Aloe Vera in Kanji.
"This is how you write it." His mouth was close to my left ear and his chest was close to my body so that I could hear vibrations when he was speaking.
I don't think he noticed he was getting too close to me. He's too focused on teaching me about exorcist botany.
Were we this close when we were young? If we were, no wonder he's this comfortable around me. But I don't really mind if he's close.
"Aloe vera has a lot of skin healing properties. This plant is useful for treating spirit wounds which is a common injury for exorcists." Yukio continued to guide my hand into writing Kanji characters.
"Did you get it?" I'm getting tingles on my back whenever he speaks in the back of my ear. I nodded in reply.
"Then, we'll end the discussion here for now. We covered a lot of subjects today, I'm surprised you're not getting information overload." Yukio broke his grip on my hand and did a little stretch with his arm.
"You were a great teacher, Yukio. I learned it pretty easily because of you."
"No, I think you're just a fast learner, that's why it's easy for you to study." He complimented me while he flashed a smile at me.
"By the way," He turned to me before he continued what he was saying. "I think it's due for another storytelling." He said.
"Really?!" My eyes sparkled in excitement. "Yes, we've been busy with your academics, we should take a break from that," Yukio said.
The door slammed open.
"Whadahek. Are ya still studying? Dumb nerds, go to bed!!" Shura entered our bedroom with her hair up and in his pajamas. She just finished taking a bath.
"Get some sleep, Yui. I'll see you tomorrow." Yukio smiled as he tapped my shoulder before he got up to leave my room.
It's been a few weeks since I transferred to True Cross Academy. I finally got to catch up with my lessons thanks to my new tutor, Yukio. He's quite a good teacher, but the cram students have been complying about his teaching methods being too difficult and too fast for their speed. I never really had an issue with that.
