A full moon shown bright in the leaf fall sky as thuderclan made its way to the gathering. Moonpaw's first gathering. The young she cat's paws itched as the group came to the tree bridge. "Be careful. The bark is slippery because of the waves below." Bearclaw said, watching his apprentice carefully. "Dont worry Bearclaw! I got this." Keeping her balance moonpaw skillfully jumped across the log and smiled at her mentor. As they all crossed, moonoaw sniffed the air. The scents of pine, moor wind, and the lake mingled with each other, making her sneeze with all the new scents. She followed bearclaw in and gasped. So many cats on the small island! Toms and she cats of all sizes were sharing tounges in the moonlight. Sparkpaw nudged her "Follow me." And led her to a group of apprentices. A white she cat greeted them "Sparkpaw! Good to see you!" Sparkpaw smiled and licked her ear playfuly "You to Whitepaw." He nudge moonpaw forward "This is moonpaw. She just became an apprentice a moon ago." A dark ginger tom perked up "Hey! I just became an apprentice too!" He looked at the silver apprentice "Im goldenpaw of shadow clan!" The she cat bowed her head politely. "Im moonpaw. Thunderclan!" Goldenpaw was handsome for an apprentice of their age, and larger. "No." Moonpaw shook the thought away "Remember the code." A meow sounded from the large tree. Moonpaw followed Sparkpaw to the tree and sat next to her sister and a river clan elder. "Cats of all clans. " a Large calico tom sat at the lowest branch, this was Oakstar the newest leader of shadowclan "It is time we began the gathering." Lionstar nodded and spoke "I think its only fair that wind clan gets the first words." No one questioned why, all the clans knew. "Thank you lionstar." An older flaxen she-cat bowed her head greatfully. She was Heatherstar, the eldest of the leaders. "Wind clan is faring nicely despite the on coming leaf bare. Weve had two new littersin our nursery and three new warriors. Meadowfur, Moorrunner, and Redclaw." Three wind clan warriors sat proudly as the clans chatted their names, afterward lionstar spoke again "If its alright with the other leaders, thunder clan wishes to speak." They all nodded and lionstar looked at the clans "Cats of all clans, Thunder clan wishes to apologize for the actions that took place a few moons ago. A rouge of our warriors went mad and put everyone in danger. Resulting in the lives of two dear warriors lost." Heatherstar looked at the golden leader "What was done with her?" "Exicile to the mountian peak. Sharptooth will have taken her from. This life into the dark forest by now." No leader looked happy as he said it, and the clans glanced at each other uncertianly, but gratefully the leaders bowed their heads and lionstar continued "As for ourclan we are fairing well. We have a new deputy, Bearclaw. And a new warrior, Rowanfang. We've also gained four new apprentices." The cats sat proudly in the crowd as lionstar finished. Oakstar shared the same report with three new warriors, as did river clan's rainstar. After the clans dissmised Moonpaw stretched watching them seperate and flow out of the island. Strangly the leaders and their medicen cats sat under the tree talking quietly. Curious, she slowly walked over. " The kits show no signs of following their mother's path, correct?" A small grey she cats looked at the leaders anxiously. "Ripplefur, the kits are strong loyal cats. Theyll never follow the path of Frostheart. " Ridgestone reassured his fellow medicen cat. But even his eyes showed unease. Moonpaw backed away, head bowed. They were talking about her and Onepaw. Fearing their futuer. Goldenpaw paded to her side, to say goodbye but stopped "Are you ok?" The silver apprentice nodded "Im fine." She nuzzled his jaw playfuly and ran to her clan calling "Goodbye!" Behind her.
Later that night she couldnt sleep. Her leader and medicen cat though she could follow her mother. She wouldnt! And starting at dawn, she would prove it.
