Moonlights path

18- new cats

The days came and went as normal for earth clan. Onetail gave birth to a litter of 3 kits, Heatherstar and lionstar passed onto star clan, making Softfur and Bearclaw become new members of the counsil. Every cat seemed to be content with their life. Except Goldenleaf. Ever since Moonlight had come home, kits trailing behind her, the large tom was distant and slightly cold twords her. Only Goldenkit was able to make him seem happy around her, the two had established a bond of freindship after their arrival. One day, while hunting Goldenleaf confronted Moonlight, away from Sparkheart's ears and sight. "Green leaf as brought bounties to our clan." Goldenleaf set a fresh finch down as he and Moonlight rested. "Goldenleaf. Why didyou bring me hunting? We've hardly spoken since i came home. Its been almost two moons." The silver she-cat looked at him curiously. "I wanted to ask you a question. Somthing that's burned inside ne since the day you chose your mate." He got close to her, eyes burning. "Why did you choose him? You knew i had feelings for you." Moonlight's eye widend "Goldenleaf. Its been moons since i chose Sparkheart. Why are you bringing this up now?" "AWNSER THE QUESTION MOONLIGHT." Goldenleaf hissed and bristled at her. She jumped , fur standing on end. Regret quickly took the place of the fire in his eyes "Wait Moonlight i" "You want to know why i chose Sparkheart, Goldenleaf?" Moonlight angrly got in his face, fuming "Because ive known him my entire life. Because i saw light down his path when i saw a shadow over yours. BECAUSE I LOVE HIM, GOLDENLEAF."a shocked silence was all that follwed the silver queen's outburst. Goldenleaf had never seen the she-cat this angry. He looked at her "Moonlight I-" A rustle came from the bushes and Pinepaw, a rust red apprentice,  ran through "Moonlight! Goldenleaf! Trouble at the border! We found hurt cats!"

A patrol was brining wounded cats into the medicen den when Goldenleaf, Moonlight, and Pinepaw arrived at camp. Moonlight sprinted to the nursery, Sparkheart sat outside, the kits sat around him watching everything "What happend?" She licked her mates cheek. "Bearstar and a patrol were confronted by three rouges. They were severly injured. So The medicen cats are looking them over." Bearstar walked through the entrance and looked around, a look of shock glimmering in his eyes. An unfamiliar grey she-cat limped behind him. "Moonlight, Onetail! Come here!" Bearstar called her over. Cautiously moonlight looked at her mate and padded over to the brown leader with her sister. "Weve made a discovery. This is Ashwind." The grey she cat limped up and smiled "Oh wow! Its you! Its really you! " she nuzzled moonlight and Onetail who stepped back confused "Um, do i know you?" Ashwind sat down, blushing "Oh! No. Sorry. But its not like mother ever told you about me." "Mother?" Moonlight looked at her confused. "Frostheart was my mother too! Im" she smiled "your sister."
