The music vibrates my entire room. I can hear everyone shouting and cheering beneath me and it's so annoying. I leave my room to finally get something to eat after three days of not doing so. It's not really healthy, but I eat when my body tells me to. I look down at my outfit. Sweats and a plain black T-shirt. Whatever. I walk downstairs and see over 20 people, all which have a glass of beer or a red plastic cup in their hands. I don't see Zion anywhere, but I don't care. A few eyes look over at me, but I ignore them. I walk into the kitchen where a group of guys are just talking. I walk past them and open the fridge. I grab my 2 Arizona's and my bowl of fruit from 3 days ago. I stick 3 grapes in my mouth and shut the door. "Hello," I turn around and look up to see a very tall guy looking down at me.

"Hi," I say with a mouth full of grapes. He laughs a little as I start chewing.

"Is this your house?"

"Yeah, it's not my party though."

"Zion's your brother?"

"Yep," I sigh. "Nice metting you, but I gotta get back upstairs."

"Hold up, don't you wanna enjoy the party?" I shake my head no. "Why not?"

"I'm not a party girl. In fact, this is the last place I wanna be."

"Can I come with then?" I glance behind him to see his friends pointing and laughing at us.

"No," I walk past him and I go upstairs.

"Zaya!" I turn around to see Zion coming up the stairs after me.

"What?"

"Why were you talking to Tyler?"

"That's his name? Dumb name. Anyways, he came up to me and we talked for like 2 minutes and then he tried to come up here with me, but I said no."

"That fucker. Imma kill him," his grip on the railing tightens.

"Chill, what's your deal? Why do you even care?"

"He's the school player if you haven't figured it out. Thank god you said no." He runs down the stairs and walks into the kitchen. Shit.

I sit my stuff down and run after him, but I get there too late. He already punches him. "Knock it off!" I jump on Zion's back, making him pull away from Tyler. He swings me around until I jump off. "What the fuck is your problem Zion? I can take care of myself. Tyler isn't even my damn type. I said no for a reason dumbass," by the time I take my eyes off Zion, a small crowd has gathered around us. "Move!" I yell and people let me pass through. I grab my stuff and I go upstairs to my room. I lock my door and I curl up in bed and continue my marathon of documentaries about different serial killers. A banging on my door snaps me out of my zone. I groan before standing up and unlocking the door. There stands Tyler. "What?"

"Zion made me come up here and apologize to you."

"For what?"

"He thinks I was tryna smash."

"Okay? Apology accepted I guess," he lets out a little sigh of relief. "What's the sigh about?"

"I didn't know how you would respond."

"Why would you care?"

"Not gonna lie, as much as I deal with a lot of the girls at school, you're kind of intimidating." He laughs a little to himself and I lean myself against the wall.

"You're intimidated by a 5'3, freshman? What are you, a 6'5 junior?"

"6'4, but when you put it like that," I smile a little. "It's just the way you carry yourself. And when you said no, it kind of shocked me how much power you have in your voice."

"I've never heard that before. I've heard that I'm rude or evil or a devil worshipper. Never powerful. I'll add that to the list."

"Seriously? Devil worshipper? Isn't that a bit extreme?" I shrug. "So whatcha doing up here that's more interesting than the party?"

"Watching documentaries."

"Sounds boring as hell."

"Do you know the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Ed Gein, a real life serial killer was what the movie was based off of. He was a grave robber who made suits of ladies skin and nipple belts so he can climb into their skin so he can become his deceased mother," he looks at me wide eyed and creeped out.

"What kind of documentaries are you watching?"

"Serial killer documentaries. As much as I hate blood, I think I wanna become a psychiatrist."

"You became 10 times creepier and I don't know if I should be turned on or scared."

"More so scared I guess." He smiles.
