Homecoming

"Lets go already!" I throw my hair in a bun and button up my flannel. I grab my stuff and run downstairs. "Damn you take forever."

"I kept messing up on my eyeliner." We head out and leave for school. I need Halloween to hurry up already. I've waited too damn long for it to come around and I'm getting very impatient. Just 8 more fucking days.

"So you know how homecoming is in 3 days right?"

"It is?"

"Yep. And mom got you a dress," I groan. "She's forcing you to go. But don't worry, it's actually a dress that's definetly your style."

"But that means the tickets are gonna be like $20 now instead of $10 like it was last week. And I'm not spending my own money on a stupid ass dance."

"She'll cover you, don't worry the cost."

"I hate high school," I mumble as we pull into the parking lot. I get out and spot out Luna and Skye. "My mom's forcing me to go to homecoming."

"Have I ever told you how much I love your mom?" Luna laughs. "Good, you need to. It's your first homecoming. You should be happy."

"You know how all those high school movies have that one girl that doesn't have a date? That's gonna be me."

"You mean us. We don't have date either," Skye says.

"You guys are going to find one. Watch."

"Um Zaya," Luna's eyes widen. "Turn around!" I turn around and gasp. There stands Diego, Xavion, and Caleb with signs and our favorite candy. Caleb's sign reads:
I know what prize I want. I want you to go to homecoming with me :)

My eyes tear up a little. "Will you go to homecoming with me?" Caleb smiles. I nod my head and run up to him. He hugs me and plants a kiss on my forehead. "I'm not with all the cute, creative shit, but I remember two days ago at the park. I missed my opportunity to make my move then, but I'm making it up now," he explains.

"This is perfect. Thank you," I smile.

"Perfect!" I look to my left to see Zion recording us.

"You knew about this?"

"Of course. I know about everything," I turn and hide my face in Caleb's chest. He rolls the sign up and hands it to me. I look over at Skye and Luna and they're faces are just as shocked as me. What a morning
