"What would you like?" The man at the counter asks. Adam order first.

"Let me get a large popcorn and a large drink and a hot dog. What you do want?" He asks Luna.

"I'll have a medium slushy and a reese's pieces." They pay and then Jace and Skye order.

"Let me get a large popcorn, large drink and nachos. Skye?"

"A medium drink and sour patch kids." They get their things and move.

"Let me get a large popcorn and a large drink and Swedish fish. Zaya?" He looks down at me.

"Um-"

"A large slushy and crunch bites please," Luna speaks up for me. "I already know her order," she winks at me before walking away. He gives me my cup and candy while Tyler gets the popcorn and his drink. I walk over to the machine and mix the flavors of coca cola, blue raspberry, and red cherry all the way to the top. We head over the lady at the entrance and she rips our ticket before we go in.

"Theater 9 on your right," she says. We walk down the hall and reach the theater. We walk inside and the previews are already starting. We climb the stairs to the last row which is completely empty. The order goes Adam, Luna, Jace, Skye, Tyler, and then me. We sit down and I let my hands fall into my lap.

"I've been waiting to see this movie for forever now," Tyler whispers to me. I nod my head a little, but I don't look over at him. The movie starts eventually and I kind of zone out a bit and tune in and out constantly throughout the movie. And before I know it, my drink is empty, my candy is gone, and the movie is close to ending. I glance over at the bucket of popcorn and it's empty too. I don't really remember eating it that much, but I have butter on my hand so I must've. And when the movie ends, I gather up all my trash and stand up before everyone else. I'm the first to leave and I throw everything away. By the time they come out, I'm just waiting against the wall. "Did you like the movie?"

"Yeah," well that was a lie. I wasn't paying attention to it so I can't really say.

"Me too, it was way better than I expected it to be." I hold onto the teddy bear tightly in my left hand.

"That's great." Everyone trails behind us as we leave. We walk outside and it's pitch black. We get to his car and the dudes decide to hop in the back with Skye and Luna so I have to sit in the front seat with Tyler. I get in the front and close the door. He drives off and I roll the window down and let the wind blow all over my face. It feels amazing. I rest my arm on the door as I stare up at the stars above. They make the sky look so beautiful and alive.

"It's a beautiful night, isn't it?"

"Very. The stars are bright tonight," I smile a little.

"You seem like the type that stays up late."

"All the time. Midnight is my favorite time of the day. It's always so quiet and gorgeous," I see him smiling at me from the side mirror. It makes me smile. Why does he look at me like that? As if I'm that important to his life. He barely knows me.

"Midnight drives are the best. The roads are usually empty and it's easy to clear your head." He stops the car in front of a house. Adam and Jace both jump out.

"See you tomorrow," they wave goodbye before disappearing down the street. He drives for another 5 minutes and reaches Luna's house.

"Bye babes!" She waves before walking inside. 2 minites later, he reaches Skye's house.

"Bye guys." And then there is 2. He starts the car up and cruises down the road.

"Do you think your brother will kill me for bringing you home at 10 p.m.?"

"He'll kill you for doing literally anything. Don't worry about the time." He laughs.

"Why does he hate me so much?" He pulls up to my house and we sit there for a second.

"Because you have a reputation and I'm his little sister," the air feels suffocating. "And that's no one's fault. That's just who you are and that's okay." I open his door and I walk inside mine.

"Zaya?" I turn my head to see my mom and dad at the dinner table.

"Hi," I glance down at the teddy bear.

"How was the movies?" I hear a lot of excitement in my mom's voice.

"I don't know. I didn't pay attention."

"Who was the boy?"

"Well I was there with Skye and Luna too. But it was Tyler's idea and he brought his friends Adam and Jace."

"How old is he?" My dad asks.

"16, turning 17. He's a junior."

"My baby has a crush!" My mom squeals.

"What?" I look up at her terrified. Her facial expression drops. "No I do not. I didn't even wanna go. Luna ruined my chance to say no and Zion set me up. He's the school player. And I didn't want anything to do with him. This was a one time thing only." And with that, I end the conversation and walk upstairs.
