Calum. We got her out of the room and away from him and before we were even ten feet away from him, she was in tears, crying her eyes out almost.
I tried rushing her to my office, but I knew by the way she was gasping- it was a panic attack
I got her into the first room I found, which was an exam room, and I quickly lifted her onto the bed, pushing her hair away from her face.
"Go find Casey please and make sure she's okay." I spoke towards Ashton, who immediately left with Luke, Michael moving to help me.
"He treated her like shit when we were kids" she cried into me, holding herself into my shoulder.
"He favored me over her so much and he made it so obvious, he tore her down as a human so much Calum" she cried into me.
"He would tell her he hated her, he would make her do all the chores, yell at her when I didn't do mine, he bought me all the new stuff, she got the stuff I didn't want." She sobbed
"I never even fucking noticed that my little sister was being mentally abused for the first six years of her life, until my mom and him divorced over it." She cried loudly into me, and I tried my best to make her stop, just so she would relax enough to breathe.
"And then she had to deal with the thought of the divorce being her fault, she went fucking silent for two years Calum, like didn't say a word to anyone." She cried.
"When we turned ten she started talking again, and I vowed to never let anyone ever do that to her again." She cried.
"I was such a horrible sister, why didn't I notice." She sobbed.
"Sweetie, you were so young, you didn't even understand." I squeezed her into me.
I now understood a lot more than I did before
Why Casey was so much more quiet
The entire dad situationWhy Casey's attitude always mattered to Meghan everyday of the week
The child needed the love she didn't receive from her father when she was younger.
"Macey" her voice soon spoke from behind me, making me look to her
No signs of crying, which was good.
"I got it" she spoke, taking my spot and hugging Macey into her quickly.
"Stop crying." She spoke quietly into her shoulder as they held each other.
Macey moved to stand, they both stood hugging, Macey continually crying.
"I'm so sorry I let it all happen" Macey breathed out into her.
Casey didn't respond, just held her tightly, telling her to stop crying.
Within minutes, Macey was done crying, Casey swayed back and forth as they hugged
I loved how close they were
They just naturally accepted each other
"Come on girls, I think it's time we go home."
Luke and I drove the girls home, Ashton and Michael following us.
Macey fell asleep on the ride home, Casey just kinda stared into space.
I carried Macey inside once we were home, Luke ran upstairs to shower, and then I had to find Casey, just to assure that she was okay.
I went to our backyard after a little bit of endless searching, seeing her sitting as the edge of the pool.
I opened the sliding door, which made hands quickly fly to her face.
She laughed lightly, concealing the tears as I got closer, sitting beside her.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah- just the fucking chemicals you guys use- burns my eyes" she mumbled, wiping her eyes with a small smile.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"She beats herself up over it all" she spoke, looking to the water.
"She shouldn't, she wasn't old enough to understand- neither of us were" she spoke, looking to me.
"There's just some things in our lifetime, that we don't exactly make happen, but yet we blame ourselves for it" I spoke, wrapping an arm around her.
"She'll eventually just put it in the past, but right now, it's just a sensitive time."
"It's been ten years since I've seen him." She spoke, looking to me.
"And as much as I still fucking hate him" she spoke quietly
"All I want out of him is for him to tell me that I can do something, fucking anything right."
