Safe and Sound

Eric's point of view

      After she had passed out I scooped her up. She was amazing and beautiful. She was so strong. She was about to die and she had all that hidden strength inside her build up and destroy the Zonnos. Though they would be back. I was sprinting back and she was mumbling something about "Don't hurt me please please please I promise I won't do it again please." My heart broke when I heard her whimper "Help" she was shaking and she curled into my arms and stopped talking and went back to sleep. I gave as much body heat as I could but I had to run fast or we would never make it to the building in time. I had betrayed all of the Zonnos who had helped me and I grew up with. I just couldn't think about being a killer. I want to help out for the good side. We were approaching the building when five people jumped out of the bush. I yelled at them to move out of the way I had someone that needed help but they refused to move. I set her down by a tree and she whimpered and curled into a ball. I felt terrible at that moment. I had never taken on five people in a fight before but if i didn't then how would we get help. I was ready to pounce but so were they I stood a couple steps away from the strange girl protectively. If I was going down there was no way they were going to get her. I ran forward and took out one of the guys. But when one was down the others were up and ready to kill I think I broke this guys leg so he should stay down.

   But there was a girl madly clinging to my back screaming "Where's my baby? Where is she?" I shook her off and tackled her I heard her wrist crack and she cried out in pain but she was up like a gnat trying to get to your sticky fruit you're eating. I kicked her in the shin but it had no effect. She was growling and was about to kill me with a knife that had suddenly appeared when the strange girl I was protecting crawled over and shakily stood up I helped her up and she was crying out at the crazy lady"No Therese don't hurt him he saved me" and she made all their weapons disappear from their hands. They were circling around me and her. Until they realized who it was. When they realized they shoved past me and hugged her. The crazy lady(Therese) calmed down and started to cry"I thought we'd never see you again Janessa!" She shrugged and awkwardly backed up. "I still don't know which story to believe out of so many." She sighed and limped over to me and said"Out of all the people to have been there for me this guy was the only one nice enough to care. He saved me when he should have been beating me." This girl is really good with words and I think I really like her. Therese was crying hysterically and said "Then take your boyfriend inside and we shall fix you up and then you can explain where you went."

  She nodded and then turned to talk to me"You should come with us back to the-" Therese finished her sentence"its called the base." The girl (Janessa) nodded and said "Right that. I'm Janessa I know this isn't a proper introduction but it will do and your name is..." "My name is Eric Fronder" She nodded and hugged me and just as she was going to say something she cried out in pain and fell into my arms. We hustled back to the base and I mentioned that I was a Zonno and the group whirled around and were about to say something but shrugged and kept going. We were at the doors of the base and were greeted by a staff of Shuttlers and she was placed on a bed and hustled away to be taken care of. She was twitching and mumbling again. I was extremely worried for her.

    I rushed over to a nurse and asked what was wrong and he told me that she had been stung ten times by a Zonno. He said she would be alright but she would be asleep for a while. I nodded and sat down in the seat next to the bed and sat and here I would sit until she would wake up again.
