Chapter 4

Ever since that day, the park became our safe haven. Some nights we would just sit in comfortable silence until drowsiness took over. Toshinori would always insist on walking me home despite how close my house is to the park. It somehow became a routine of us.

I don't know when it started but being with him feels like home...and I find myself steadily falling for him. At first, I thought it was just because of the absence of my parents that I somehow find solace in him, I really wish it was just that but it's not...it was more than that.

It was like as if the universe keeps pulling us together and it probably is. First, the convenience store and now, the park. I would be lying to myself if I say, this doesn't make me happy.

I was snapped back to reality when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I look behind me and it was my friend.

"Hey! What's up?"

"(Y/N)! We've been calling you for the last 5 minutes!"

"Yeah, what are you daydreaming about? Is it a guy, huh?" My friend said teasingly.

"W-what!? Of course not! Don't be silly."

"Yeah right, tell that to us next time when you're not redder than a tomato!"

"Oohh~ someone's in love~"

"I'm only in love with fictional and 2d character, guys."

"Pfft, Levi is mine so back off."

"Noooo! HE is mine!"

"Then I guess, I'll have Erwin all to myself."

"How dare you!" They both said simultaneously and the three of us bursted into a laugh. After that, we headed to the cafeteria to eat our lunch. We're not really doing anything that much since we would be graduating in two weeks. We're just practicing for our graduation so we have a lot free time. Usually, we spend it by sleeping in the library and other things that could ease our boredom.

Finally, it was the last day of our practice and tomorrow will be our graduation. Me and my friends decided to make the best out of the day by going to karaoke and playing arcade games before going home. Both of them would be studying abroad which means I would be left all alone.

Why is everyone leaving...

It was 10 pm, I was about to sleep when I decided to text Toshinori-san. I haven't had the chance to see him nor talk to him.
"Good evening Toshinori-san! you awake? I was wondering if you could come to my graduation tomorrow, 3pm. So yeah, that's all goodnight! see u tom if ever you're available!" Aaaaand, message sent. Wooh! I did it! My chest is pounding really hard. I waited a few more minutes for his reply but it never came. He must be asleep already. Welp, guess I'll just wait tomorrow.

Since our moment in the park, somehow, little by little, I was able to sleep soundly. I no longer see my parents' lifeless body but instead, it was now replaced with the happy memories I had with them.
