I woke up to the feeling of something or rather someone's body pressed against me. Not only that but their arms are around my waist and legs slightly tangled to mine. My eyes cracked open, the same time as Toshinori. We both stared at each other, not moving from our position, and still searching for the right words to say. Toshinori was the first one to break the silence and he immediately removed his body from mine once he realized the position we were in.
"Y-you were having a nightmare. I heard you screaming so I immediately go to your room and there, I found out that you were also crying. I tried to wake you up but your nightmare seemed to become worse since you suddenly start thrashing. Whenever I let go of you, you would start writhing again...So...I uhh, hold you in my arms and you calmed down. " His face is all red and his eyes are looking everywhere except to my face.
"I-I see...I'm sorry about that." I covered my face with my hands to hide my emabarrassment. I probably look like an apple from how red my face is right now.
"It's all right. I was wondering what was your dream about?"
"Ohh..." Suddenly, almost everything came back to me.
"Y-you were dying...a villain attacked U.A. and then you fought him but he was much stronger than you...i-it felt so real."
"Ahh...don't worry, that won't happen. I won't let it." Toshinori-san gave me a reassuring smile but the uneasiness in my chest told me otherwise.
"But what if something bad is about to happen to you? I'm scared, I don't want to lose you." I couldn't bear the thought of losing him...I've lost a lot of important people in my life and I don't think I can handle losing another.
"Trust me. Nothing like that would happen, okay? That's right! Breakfast! You're probably hungry already." Toshinori hurriedly made his way out of the room to avoid discussing it any further.
We ate in silence, not a word spoken about what happened earlier. We both just keep it at the back of our minds, as the saying goes, "some things are better left unsaid."
"Hey, Toshi-san!"
"Hmm?"
"You have a fallen eyelash." Right now, we are sitting in a couch, watching a movie in his living room.
"Ohh, where?" He asks as he tries to remove it himself.
"Here, let me get it for you." I leaned forward a bit, my right hand reaching for his face and I noticed a light dust of pink appearing on his cheeks.
"There you go. Now, make a wish!"
"What for?"
"You don't know!? You see, when I was a child whenever I have a fallen eyelash, my mother would get it for me and she'll ask me to make a wish. After making a wish, you will guess where the eyelash would be. The eyelash is placed between the index and thumb finger with your two fingers pressed together, like this! Would it be on the index finger or thumb finger? If your guess is right, your wish will come true!" I exclaimed happily.
"Hahahaha!" Toshinori suddenly bursted into laugh.
"Hey! why are you laughing? I'm serious alright."
"I'm sorry ahahaha, it's just that you look really adorable explaining it to me."
"Is that supposed to be a compliment? Anyway, I know it's kind of childish but it works for me...sometimes." I said sheepishly. I covered my face with my hair to hide my embarrassment.
"Then, let's hope this works for me as well. Okay, I'll make a wish now." Toshinori patted my head gently then he closes his eyes for a second to make a wish. After that, he told me it would be in my index finger.
I slowly raise my index finger and saw the eyelash pressed on the tip of my index finger.
"Waaah! Your wish will come true! Good choice sir."
"That's good to hear. I really wish it would."
"Sooo...what's your wish?" I asks giving him the best puppy eyes that I could, hoping that he would tell me his wish. Come on! I'm dying to know!
"Nope, not saying." He sent me a playful smirk before laughing a little.
"Alright, I'll tell you. You looked like you won't be able to sleep tonight if you don't find out."
"I wished for...happiness"
"That's kind of vague. You should have been more specific."
"Ohh, I guess your right."
"Hehe, but it's fine. Your wish will come true anyway. I know it would, I mean you deserve to be happy."
"Y-you should really stop saying such things to me or I might-" However, before he could even finish what he was about to say, a call from the police came and unfortunately there is a villain attack. The other pro heroes are having a hard time dealing with the villain, so he was asked to come.
"I'll come with you!" I had a flashback of my dream last night and the nagging feeling in my chest came back.
"No! It's too dangerous. You still haven't had your hero license right? So it's a no."
"Bu-" "No buts (L/N)-san, just stay where you are and remain safe. I told you didn't I? I won't let it happen."
"I'm just worried about you...fine, I'll wait for you to come home." He gave me a crooked smile and pat my head lightly before changing into All Might.
What Toshinori said about his wish wasn't a lie nor was it entirely the truth either. His wish was more than that, but he couldn't tell her, not now.
I wish that I could spend more time with her.
For him, happiness is her.
