Chapter 9

We were having a good laugh when my phone beeped and Toshinori's name appeared on my lockscreen.

"(L/N)-san? Are you busy right now? Can you come to the park? It's important."

"Sure! be there in a minute :))" I wonder why, I hope he's fine.

"Hey guys, I'll just go outside for a minute, I'll be back right away!" I said hurriedly.

"Where are you going (L/N)-san?" Iida said curiously.

"Should we come with you? Kero" Tsuyu added.

"Yeah, maybe we should come with you." Deku said, a hint of concern in his voice.

"No, don't worry I'll be fine. I'll be back before you even know it hehehe. I'm just going to meet someone in the park."

"It's your boyfriend isn't it? " Uraraka said while grinning mischieviously.

"N-n-no! Of course not, he's just a friend..." I said defensively. I can feel myself blushing. If only that were true.

"Ohhh, so it's a guy then." They all said in unison.

"Anyways, I'll be quick, byee!" Then I heard them shout.

"Introduce him to us next time okay? Or better ask him to join us today!" Seriously, these guys.

After some quick walk, I am know in front of the park and I saw Toshinori-san in the swing. Hehehe, he looks cute. He is wearing a white scarf, long blue coat, and a black jeans.

"Toshi-san!" I waved at him.
"(L/N)-san, there you are. Sorry for making you come all the way here." He said smiling.

"It's fine! Umm, so are you alright? What happened?" I said worriedly.

"Hahaha, I'm fine. I didn't mean to worry you. I just want to give you something." I saw him reach for the pocket of his coat. He was know holding a small box neatly wrapped with a blue ribbon.

Holy shit! Is he going to propose to me or something? I still haven't decided yet the name of our children. WHAT SHOULD I DO!?!? Oh wait, he had just indirectly rejected me before so...

"(L/N)-san?" "(L/N)-san" "(Y/N)!" I was brought back to reality when I heard him call my name.

"Oh, sorry I dozed off for a second." I said awkwardly.

He chuckled as he opened the box and I saw a wristwatch inside. Uwaaahh! It's beautiful! It is a simple black wristwatch. He remembered that my favorite color is black...

"Happy Birthday (Y/N). I know this isn't much but I hope you like it." he said.

"Are you kidding me? This is beautiful! I love it!" Before I could even stop myself, I hugged him tightly. His body went rigid for a second until I felt him relaxed and he wrapped his arms around me awkwardly.

"Thank you Toshinori-san. I'll treasure this." I said as I savor the feeling of being this close to him. His warmth, his steady breathing, his smell, and his bony yet firm body pressed against me. Why do I sound like a pervert just now? Whatever, I wish we could stay like this forever.

But good things don't usually last since I slowly unwrapped my arms around him knowing well enough how awkward it must be for him. We just stood in silence, trying to avoid eye contact until a fountain of blood gush out of his mouth.
At least the awkward moment was broken.

"Umm, you should join us you know. My friends from U.A. surprised me and they told me to bring you with me." I said hoping that he'll say yes.

"Oh! Uhh...I'm terribly sorry (L/N)-san, I would love to join you but there's something that I'll have to do. I'll make it up to you next time. " He said reassuringly while ruffling my hair.

"Hmph, fine." I said pouting.

"Now, now, don't pout. You have my word alright? I don't lie."

"Promise?"

"Pinky swear." He get a hold of my right hand as he laced our pinkies together.
"There you go."

"Pfft! You're like a child."

"Says the one who keeps pouting like a child." I stuck my tongue out to him and he just lightly shake his head because of my childish behavior.

After meeting with Toshinori-san, when I came back, I was bombarded with questions. I feel like I am in an interrogation room, especially the girls, they would make great interrogators.

Ohh boy, I will never hear the end of this for a few days. But, this is really the best birthday ever!
