At the Bellaire House:

Shane had returned to the infamous Bellaire house for one reason only, Ryan Bergara. He had died there during an episode of BuzzFeed Unsolved. He was thrown out the window in the attic by an unknown assailant. Shane himself saw it happen too, but he wouldn't admit it was a ghost.

This time though, Shane wasn't just there for any ghost. He was there... for Ryan. If ghosts were real, maybe Ryan would appear at that house, and maybe he could communicate with him.

Shane hired a voodoo practicer (a.k.a. the girl from the voodoo video), and two friends. One of which had memorized holy scriptures from the Bible and learned to perform exorcisms.

If this incident didn't occur, Shane would've thought this was bull crap or even overkill. None the less, this was not just a game to him, it was a sort-of search party for him. He even brought holy water and a helmet.

Geez, I'm turning into Ryan, he thought, leaving the helmet near his back pack and picking up the holy water.

Everyone was setting up cameras in various parts of the house. They turned on all the lights so they wouldn't need flashlights, but they still held onto some.

Finally, everyone was done setting up and they went into the dining room to perform a séance. This time they brought a burrito from Chipotle as an offering and they brought more candles to light the room.

This was it, he'd finally contact Ryan and get answers regarding his death.

[I don't really know how the spirits are supposed to communicate in a séance and I'm a scared-y cat, so we're going with the classic EVP. Good? Good!]

They all sat at the table and held hands, a few lit candles surrounding them and one in the center. Everyone felt somewhat anxious, except for Mary, the voodoo lady, as she was practically fearless.

"Spirits of the past, move among us. Be guided by the light of this world and visit upon us."

(Btw there's apparently another version of this for close relatives or friends so I'm gonna copy it down as an alternative.)

"Beloved Ryan, we bring you gifts from life into death. Be guided by the light of this world and visit upon us," they chanted in unison, as almost immediately the candle in the middle quivered and moved as if someone was fanning it. Everyone (except Mary)  glanced at each other, afraid of what was happening.

As per usual, Shane's dumb mind blamed it on physics or whatever... but he felt something breathe in his ear and inaudibly whisper something in his ear. It was Ryan's voice. Knowing Ryan, if the roles were switched Ryan would've jumped and ran out of the house. Though, Shane was still pretty skeptical, it was truly unbelievable; both the existence of ghosts and Shane Madej's skepticism.

He instantly turned completely around only to see nothing. His paranoia at its peak.

The others glanced at him, all saying something along the lines of: "What is it? What happened?"

Shane reluctantly answered, "I... swear I heard someone whisper to me."

Sara —the one who didn't study scriptures before all this— asked, "R-really? What'd they say? Was it Ryan?!"

Shane felt a shiver up his spine as he responded, "Yes, really. I couldn't tell what he said, but it was definitely Ryan. I know that idiot's voice by heart," he said rather sarcastically. Even when Ryan's dead and they're performing a serious séance Shane can be sarcastic.
