“what do you want to be?” jasper suddenly asks, startling me. i give him a strange look. he must see my confusion before he elaborates, “i mean, when you grow up? what do you want to major in at college?”
i bite my lip thinking for a moment, before saying, “maybe something in the medical field… why?”
he shrugs and clears his throat, “i got accepted into NYU and i have absolutely no clue what i want to do yet.”
"well, you like to help people. you could be one of those— wait! you got accepted into NYU?”
“yeah, a few weeks ago. i forgot to tell you,” he says sheepishly.
i slap him on the shoulder which results into him wincing.
“what was that for?” he asks, rubbing his shoulder while looking at me through narrowed eyes.
“for not telling your best friend about how you got accepted into the same college she got into, you dummy.”
“why are you talking in third person?” he laughs.
“never mind that. but that’s great!” i say, grinning.
“so that means we’ll be going to the same college,” he says, bumping his shoulder into mine.
"i guess we are.”
“i guess you’re stuck with me,” he says, before pulling me into a hug.
i breathe his musky scent in, before burrowing my head into his chest and wrapping my arms around his waist.
"i guess i am.”
