Chapter 6

We walk back into the house to see Ansel on the couch by himself.

I ask "Is Zoe here?"

"No but can I talk to you." he looks at Theo. "Alone."

"Ya sure." I turn to Theo "I'll meet you outside."

"Alright just don't kiss her, or I'll have to kill you." He says as he walks out.

"So you wanted to talk to me." I say

"Oh ya. Um can you hook me up with Maiah?" he starts scratching his neck.

"Aren't you with Zoe?"

"Well she broke up with me because if the ulcer, then said I should move on. And of course she's moving to New York."

"Someone's a busy bee."

"Huh?"

I laugh then say. "If I get you a date with Maiah then who's next. Amanda or Riley. And besides isn't she with Miles?"

"Listen I know but I feel a connection with Maiah. And no he broke up with her and got with Amanda."

It stung that Maiah didn't tell me this.

"Hmm I'll try."

"Thank you so much!"

"Now all we have to do is get Olivia with someone."

"Isn't she with that Chris guy?"

"I think so, but I don't know if it's certain. with that fight they had a couple weeks ago."

"Oh and why not Riley?"

"Oh she's with some baseball player named Jake."

"Don't you just love it when our little group tells us when they are in a relationship!"

I laugh at his sarcasm.

"Well I'm going to go meet Theo outside and talk to Maiah." I say

"Okay."

"I see what your trying to do." I say as I close the door. I hear him laugh.

I walk behind Theo and hop on his back.

He says "Hey you."

"Hey."

"So what did he want?"

I hop off of him "To make out with me."

"What?!"

"I'm kidding."

"Thank god."

I notice he's holding a beer bottle "Your not supposed to have glass at the beach."

"I'm not by the beach."

"Your not supposed to have glass near the pool."

"No YOUR not allowed because clumsy ass, but me I'm not a clumsy ass."

"Oh shut up you cocky son of a bitch."

I kiss him.

"Well I have to go talk to Maiah." I say

"Alright."

I walk over to Maiah who's tanning. I lay a towel next to her and lay down.

"Hey." she says

"Hey. Where'd Shai go?"

"She went to look for starfish."

"Oh that's nice."

"Ya."

"I heard."

"What?"

"I heard about you and Miles."

"Oh about that I don't really care he seems happy with Amanda."

"Ya but are you ready to start dating again?"

"Depends on who's asking."

"What about Ansel?"

She sits up "Are you joking!"

"No why would I be joking?"

"You knew I always liked him! Obviously I'll go out with him!"

"Ok I'll go let him know!"

I stand up and give Ansel a thumbs up. and he does some sort of victory dance. I roll my eyes and he laughs.

I lay back down next to Maiah.

I say "You know what."

"What?"

"We haven't had a girls day. You know just you and me in a while."

"I know right."

"Let's have one tonight."

"Yaaassss!"

"My house."

"So here."

"Obviously."

"Great! before I just need to run home and grab my stuff."

"Maiah. We have a LOT of guest rooms here. why don't you just make one of them yours?"

"Ok. You do have a lot though. Like what? Ten I think."

"Somewhere around there yes."

"Chloe. I just want you to know that I love you like a sister!"

"Aww Maiah your like my twin."

"So how did Ansel ask you?"

"He just asked me."

"That's cool."

"Ya."

"I think I'm gonna go grab a beer."

"Alright."

I walk up and walk to the cooler.
