I lie there on the bed unsure of what I just heard.

"W-what?"

"The baby is gone. The pressure, stitches, and everything that's happened." I can barely understand Theo.

"No that couldn't of k-killed it. How is that possible?!"

"The doctors didn't think that all that could do it. But it happened."

I clench my fists and start to get up.

"Chloe no don't make this any worse!" Theo says

That comment breaks me "How am I going to make it worse!?"

"I don't know I just don't want you to hurt anyone!"

"What about me?! Does anyone care about how I feel?!"

"I know I'm sorry."

"Goddammit Theo just tell me the truth why don't you want me to get up? Do you think I have anger issues too?!"

"Chloe just lay down."

"Just tell me the truth!"

"No I don't!"

"Why are you lying to me!"

"I'm not lying! I love you Chloe!!"

"I-I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too. now lay back down and rest."

"Ok."

"You're gonna go into surgery soon."

I place my hand on my stomach and sob into my other.

"Has anyone told Zoe?" I ask

"No."

"Give me your phone."

He hands me his phone with Zoe's number already dialed in.

Her: Hey Theo.

Me: It's Chloe.

Her: Oh hey. Why didn't you just use your phone?

Me: I don't know.

Her: Well what's up?

Me: So it looks like it wouldn't of mattered if I got an abortion or not.

Her: Wait what do you mean?!

Me: The baby's dead.

Her: Chloe this isn't funny!!!

Me: Why would I joke about something like this?

Her: Wait what!!

I hang up so I don't hear the rest.

I sob into my hands. I feel a hand on my back.

"Leave me alone." I stutter out

I hear a voice that isn't Theos "Chloe I know this is news for you."

I turn to see the doctor.

"You! You did this! You said the baby would survive!! This is YOUR fault!!"

"Chloe just calm down." the doctor says calmly.

"And you think I have anger issues!! Why the hell would you think I have anger issues!"

"Chloe we are taking you into surgery now."

"Answer my question!"

"Just calm down so we can take you into surgery."

"No!"

"Chloe I'm going to you this shot I'm about to give you, will put you to sleep."

"ANSWER MY QUESTION!"

I feel a sharp pain in my arm, before I can say something else I black out.
