I wake up in a hospital bed with 3 favorite people swarmed around me.
"What happened?" I ask
"Well you got in a car accident." Shai said
"I know that but what did doctors do to me." I ask
"Ohhhh you had to get stitches and you have a minor concussion." Shai says
"Oh and let me guess my car is totaled."
"Yeah unfortunately." Maiah says
"Great. Just great." I say
"It's fine I'll get you a new car." Theo says
"No it's not that. Its just that I was in love with that car."
"Oh thanks." Theo laughs.
"Love you." I say
"I know."
"Good." I yawn "When can I go home?"
"I don't know maybe a couple of days." Maiah says.
"Ughhhhh great!"
"It'll be ok we'll be here the whole time." Theo says.
"Ewww no!"
"Gee thanks." Maiah says
"No I love you guys it's just that, you'll see me all gross."
"We'll look away." Maiah says
"Ya!" Shai says
"Geez Chloe I've seen you naked." Theo says
"Me too." Maiah says
"Same." Shai says
Theo gives them a weird look. Then says"So can I stay here with you?" Theo says
"Ya me too?" Maiah says
"What about me?" Shai says
"I guess." I say.
"Yes!" Maiah and Shai say
"Oh, not you two." I say
"What?! Why not!" They ask.
"Sorry there's not enough room." I say
"Um I'm pretty sure Theo will sleep with you, then there's the couch or bench whatever that thing is by the window, and chairs." Maiah says
"And even if Theo doesn't sleep by you one if us could." Shai says
"Yeah, no." I say
"Ughhhh fine." Maiah says
"Whatever." Shai says
"So how do you feel." Theo asks
"I feel like I got in a car accident." I say
"Well obviously." He laughs then says
"Am I supposed to say something else?" I ask
"I dunno maybe I feel like shit, or I feel horrible?"
"Hmmm ok. I feel like a horrible shit." I say and smile
He laughs "Well I guess that could work."
I say "Well I combined them."
"That's great." shai says in between laughs.
"Ya seriously. Very descriptive." Maiah says
I hear the door open and I see a doctor.
"Hello Ms. Parker how are you feeling?"
We all burst into a fit of laughter, the doctor looks confused.
"Well doc, I feel like a horrible shit."
He nods and writes something down.
"I understand that you are pregnant?" The doctor asks
"Yes." I say
"Ok well we take some tests to make sure it's ok."
"How could it not? I'm only, what like a month pregnant. I don't even have a baby bump."
"We know but we just want to take tests to make sure."
"Ok."
Theo squeezes my hand.
The doctor walks out, then immediately walks back in. "Well you coming." he asks
"Oh right now?"
He nods
"Oh ok." I stand up and grab my IV bag stand and walk with the doctor.
