The next morning Jimin woke up in a remarkably good mood. The fog that had earlier hung over Seoul had drifted away to reveal a light blue sky with a glowing sun. He rolled out of bed and walked downstairs, pulled by the sound of voices in the kitchen discussing the days plans. Namjoon had sat down with the rest of the group after attempting to make coffee for them and somehow burning it much to Jin's disgust. It was still early, 10:30, and no one but Jungkook and Hoseok seemed particularly excited to be active.
"Its too nice out to stay inside and work all day," Jungkook was arguing, gesturing to the glass door that opened to a balcony.
"It has been raining for the last week, don't we deserve to spend some time in the sun?"Hoseok agreed. "We should go to Namsan park and get...inspiration..." he trailed, obviously trying to think of some excuse that would warrant an outdoor trip.
"And Yoongi could use some sun, look at him," Jungkook teased. Yoongi looked up from his coffee and made a face at him.
After more pleading and arguments being made it was finally decided that the seven of them would venture to Namsan park and spend the day there. They had to carefully select clothing ensembles that would be nice but not too stand-outish. They wanted to avoid being recognized. After a half an hour of getting ready they finally piled into cars and drove to the park. It had gotten warmer out and the few clouds that were in the sky were white and fluffy. A perfect day.
(A perfect day for a romantic date it might seem hehe)
...
Namjoon and Jin were sitting on a bench under a tree, giggling at something they were looking at on Jin's phone while they waited for Taehyung to stop talking to Jungkook so they both could get back to discussing songs. J-hope waited impatiently for his partner could stop just staring and smiling at Tae as he spoke.
Yoongi and Jimin sat together apart from the other groups on a stone wall at the edge of a path. Little petals kept falling of a nearby flowering tree and landing in their hair but they didn't really notice. They had already been confronted by two fans, who, blushing profusely, asked for photos very politely. Sometimes fans were ruder or more insane and screamed when they saw BTS so it was gratifying to have a peaceful encounter.
Even though they came for a day off they were really just working in a different setting. Today they wanted to brainstorm lyrics. They were still having trouble deciding on a definite song topic.
"I want to keep something about..following your heart, I guess?" Jimin said. "It sounds kind of stupid and lame but if we work it can get better."
"Yeah, but it can't just be like; 'follow your dreams wooop yay.' Its not an inspirational poster in an elementary school classroom."
Jimin stared at Yoongi. "Well that's not what I meant. For one, its going to be first person. And two, its not saying that you need to do what you want in life its about how you can do that even with hardships. It could be about, like we talked about earlier, how you can move on from heartbreak and how you still have to stay. . . you, I guess even if your heart is being ripped apart. It doesn't mean you, or in the song it'll be 'I' have to give up. You know what I mean?"
Yoongi was surprised by Jimin's sudden intensity about the song. He didn't realize how much though Jimin had put into this idea. "Yeah, I get it. Thats a really good idea, actually. We should probably write lyrics and then work them around the tune..."He said, smiling.
Jimin smiled too, assured that his idea was good. Then his eyes widened, because suddenly Yoongi was really close to his face and looked directly into his eyes, smiling.
Jimin almost had a heart attack.
But then Yoongi laughed and pulled a white flower out of a blushing Jimin's newly dyed light pastel hair. Jimin exhaled.
"For you," he said, holding the flower out to Jimin, who awkwardly laughed, still flustered, and took it.
Yoongi sighed and leaned back, placing his hands on the cool rock on either side of him and looked up at the blue sky, which had changed from the midday blue to a softer color of the late afternoon, with hints of yellow and pink, a preview of the coming sunset.
"I wish it was always like this. So peaceful."
Jimin turned his eyes upward too. "Too bad responsibilities get in the way. And our lives. What if we weren't idols?"
Yoongi turned to Jimin. "It might be more relaxing, yes. But then none of us would be friends. And I can't imagine that."
Jimin looked like he was about to say something, but he stopped and just shrugged.
They sat there in silence for a short while more until it was declared time to leave and return to the dorms to eat.
Jungkook chased Hoseok to the truck, Taehyung running after them while Jin laughed at them and Namjoon told them all to be quiet. Jimin and Yoongi stood back a little, walking slowly.
Not wanting to leave this moment.
