Any Day Now- Yoonmin

Chapter Three

Yoongi heard them talking down the hall. 

How could he not? He had been wide awake since very early that morning, risen by the loud rain and while he was able to drift in and out of sleep for the next few hours, and the sleep was not of good quality and ensured a bad day today. But instead of getting up to do something productive with this unwanted free time, he just stayed in his bed, trying to avoid having to deal with the responsibilities he knew awaited him in real life. 

So he lay there, looking out the window, as the rain slowed down, changing from huge, loud drops to small misty fragments of the sky dusting his window.

He heard the rest of them wake up; Jin's failed tiptoeing followed by the sound of the stove turning on downstairs as he started to prepare breakfast. Soon after Namjoon loudly opened the door to his room and rushed downstairs, where he and Jin talked in hushed voices in the kitchen. Hoseok followed them, woken up by Namjoons creaking door. About an hour later, Taehyung and Jungkook walked out of Taehyungs room, talking excitedly about the video games they had stayed up late playing.

He knew everyone else was awake and alert, besides Jimin. Then he heard Tae clumsily run back upstairs to get Jimin, and he listened to their whole conversation.

What did Taehyung mean? He seems to listen to you more than the rest of us. Maybe it was true. Jimin had that sort of effect on him. It was impossible not to listen to him, he was always so easy to get along with and kind, while also assertive if he needed to be. Yoongi blushed to himself, thinking about Jimin. Then he caught himself and sat up straighter, banishing thoughts like that. Jimin was just one of his good friends.

That was all Jimin needed to be to Yoongi. A close friend.

It was true... 

Or it was what he tried to convince himself.
