Everyone slept in the next morning, with no rush to get to the park. There were no particular annoyances that occurred while they got ready and made plans for their day. A lot of them brought books to read, and Jin packed a picnic basket, Jungkook brought his big fancy camera, and Jimin a sketchpad. He didn't draw frequently because he was so busy, but he loved it.

The traffic was heavy on the drive the to park and the cars, while air conditioned, were still stuffy and the leather seats were sticky. They were all relieved to step out into the fresh air and under the shade of trees lining the paved pathways.

Sakuranomiya Park was as pretty as the photos showed, maybe even more vibrant and fresh in person. The cherry trees, while not in full bloom, still looked very pretty. The different kinds of plants all around them looked oddly deciduous for East Asia and the native plants complimented the views around them. It was a little haven in the very urban city of Osaka and a pleasant escape, even if there were food vendors and lots of tourists wandering around. The sun shone through the leaves and its white-gold light played across their faces as it sparkled in their eyes and dyed hair.

They settled at a stone bench and set down their bags and sat down with sighs.

After about an hour of reading they were all sufficiently bored and twitchy. Taehyung went with Namjoon to get ice creams and Jin followed Jungkook and his camera in hopes of getting pictures of himself. That left Jimin, Hoseok, and Yoongi sitting still. Earlier Yoongi had fallen asleep, his head drooping onto the page, and no one woke him up. He slept for about fifteen minutes before waking up and embarrassedly wiping his face and picking up where he left off. The three just kept reading in silence. Jimin kept senselessly scrolling though his phone and Yoongi seemed to be drifting off again.

Within the next hour the rest of the group returned with melting ice creams in hand. They put down phones and books and sat in a clump, chatting and licking their well-earned treats. After a while, when Jimin finally finished his after savoring it for a ridiculous amount of time, Yoongi asked if anyone wanted to go on a walk. A vague mumbling came from the rest of the group, an obvious display of their lack of interest in joining him. Jimin stood up, brushing his hands on his legs. "I'll go with you. But we have to stop at a bathroom so I can wash my hands. They're all sticky."

"Well, thats what happens when you wait for your ice cream to melt completely before you eat it." Yoongi said, laughing. He and Jimin grabbed the wrappers from the rest of the group and set off.

...

(OK SO LY:ANSWER CAME OUT TODAY AND OOOOHH, MY GOD just ASKLGFJIKDJFOJWEF!!! So yeah, anyway, thought I'd say that (also Namjoons hair; boi I'm-) (Anyway keep reading, just wanted to say that. love,)

The bathrooms were crowded and by the time the line was short enough for Jimin to go up and wash his hands they were both irritated and hot from being the the cramped stuffy place. They escaped back into the fresh air walked for a short while in silence.

It was hot and humid, the air hung like a suffocating velvet curtain over the city and there was no real way out of it besides dreaming about when summer would finally end.

Jimin and Yoongi found their way over to a path that was mostly in the shade. It was the hottest time of day, the late afternoon sun slanted through the trees onto the backs of their already damp necks. They talked about their song and the plans they had for it, but none of the subjects they covered were able to capture their attention for more than five minutes before just faltering out.

They sat down on a stone bench under an out of season cherry tree. Even without the petals, it still looked wonderful with the golden light on the pale green leaves. The ground around them was littered with little seeds from the flowers nearby.

Yoongi sighed and brushed his hair out of his face, smoothing his hand down his head and rubbing the back of his neck, his dark brown hair came to a darker, sweaty peak at the bottom. Jimin mimicked his gestures, evidently fatigued from the heat. They still had this unexplainable silence between them, a tension, that no amount of small talk could adequately lessen.

"I probably look pretty bad." Jimin said randomly, his voice cutting into the thick air. Yoongi tilted his head and stared at him, frowning.

"You don't look bad, Jimin. Obviously we're all sweating and not wearing makeup. But you look good. You always look good..." he trailed off.

Jimin stared back at him. "You look good too, though. I don't think... well, ...I don't think you get enough recognition. You're not careless or mean, either."

Yoongi smiled, a subtle blush creepy up his already sun-flushed face. He stared Jimin dead in the eye, examining the colors, the shades of brown.

Jimin noticed how Yoongi's eyes had a certain depth in them, and he looked closer.

Maybe Yoongi leaned in closer, to better see Jimin's eyes. Maybe Jimin wanted to see the depth of Yoongi's eyes. But suddenly they were close, too close, their breath too hot and the humid air kept weighing down on them, their chapped lips seemed to be pulled together magnetically.

Maybe they both intended for it to happen. Maybe they both didn't expect it, want it, to happen. It'll make everything complicated. This might destroy things.

But in that moment everything but the two of them vanished. Even the heavy heat and all the uncomfortable silences and any tension was broken when their mouths touched. Their eyes fluttered closed, then opened again, too close, unable to see the depths in each others pupils. But it didn't matter.

In that moment, nothing mattered but them.
