Your Secret is Safe With Me

(Peter's POV)

"Everyone. We have a new student today." The teacher said gaining our attention. "Her name is Veronica Stark."

The room went completely silent and everyone looked to the back of the class room where she was sitting.

Oh my god! Ned's bones were right! Veronica actually did come to our school. Out of all of the schools in New York she came to this one. The school I go to!

I looked over at Ned. His jaw dropped so far it almost hit the ground. He was in shock. I looked over to where everyone was looking. There she was Veronica Stark. She looked so calm as everyone stared at her. She just smiled at everyone, something I would never be able to do if everyone was staring at me.

"Ok, ok. That's enough. Everyone please be sure to make sure Miss Stark feels welcome here." Mr. Greenwich said, gaining back our attention. "Now today we will be starting our big group project on the books you've read so far this year."

He began to pair up and I just kept waiting to hear my name. Ned's name was called, but he didn't move. I waved my hand in front of his face, but he still didn't respond. "Ned!" I said snapping my fingers in front of his face. He finally came to it and looked at me.

"Am I with Veronica?" he asked.

"No. Your with Sam." I replied pushing him out of his seat.

He looked disappointed and he started walking toward Sam with his head down.

"Peter Parker. Your with Veronica Stark." The teacher called out.

I nodded and stood up and started to walk back to where she was sitting. Come on Peter don't be an idiot. I thought to myself. I smiled at her and she smiled back.

I sat down next to her. "Hey." I said.

"Hey. Long time no see." She giggled.

"Haha. Ya." I said laughing. "So Midtown High School. What a small world it is."

"Haha. Ya it is a small world." She smiled, "So what exactly is the project on?"

"Oh, it's on these three books we've read so far this year. We're supposed to make a presentation on how they are all connected."

"That might be kind of hard for me considering I don't know these books." She said looking at the list.

"That's ok! I can fill you in!" I said, maybe a little to enthusiastically.

"Really? Thanks!" She replied with a huge smile.

She was so cute when she smiled. I could look at her smile all day.

The bell rang, indicating it was time to go to our next class.

"Well um we're gonna have to work on this outside of school to be able to finish it in time. So, where should we meet after school?" I said.

"I don't know. Do you have any fun places around town?" she asked.

"Um... ya! There's this great sandwich shop near my apartment. We could get a sandwich from there then head to my apartment to work on the project after school." I suggested.

"Sounds good!" she said. "Ok, well see you later Spiderboy." She smiled then got her stuff and started to walk away.

I just watched her walk away. I couldn't believe Veronica Stark was in my school, in my class, and now I was working on a project with her!

Then it hit me. She knew my secret! I ran out of the room and down the hall to her. I almost didn't stop in time and almost ran right into her.

"Veronica!"

"Ya?"

"Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure." She said, and she walked toward me leaving Lily for a second.

"It's ok, I can walk her to her next class!" I called out to Lily. She looked suspicious but Veronica smiled at her so she turned and started to walk away.

"I have Spanish next." She said. So I started to walk her to the Spanish room.

"Look it's not that I don't trust you," I started off and she looked at me confused. "But, you really can't tell anyone that I'm, well, you know. Spiderman."

She just looked at me and giggled. "Don't worry, Spiderboy. Your secrets safe with me." And she turned and walked into her class.

For some reason, even though I really didn't know her I felt like I could really trust her. It feels as though I could trust her with really any secret. I smiled and ran to my next class because I was already late.

I couldn't wait to work on the English project with her after school!
