(Veronica's POV)

knock knock

"Hey sweetie. Are you up? It's 7:00 and you need to leave here at 7:30."

Oh god! I had forgotten to set my alarm.

"Ya I'm up!" I totally lied.

"Alright hun well come downstairs soon. Nat's making some bacon and eggs." My dad said. He's really good about privacy. He never really walks into my room unannounced, which I'm really thankful for.

I quickly ran to the sink, put on some mascara, brushed my hair, got dressed and brushed my teeth. I grabbed my stuff and the three books for english and ran downstairs. I was already half way through one of the books for Peter and my project. Even though Peter said I didn't have to read them, I was a fast reader and I didn't want him to have to do the project by himself.

I got into the kitchen and quickly ate some breakfast, said goodbye to everyone, then ran to the car, where Happy was sitting patiently.

"A bit out of breath are we?" He asked. "Sleep through your alarm?"

"Nope. I forgot to set my alarm. Thank god for my dad."

"Yes, thank god for him." Happy replied with a laugh. My dad was always on time and he always made sure I was too.

When we got to school I said goodbye to Happy and then I ran up the stairs and to my locker.

"Hey Veronica." Peter said startling me.

"Oh, hey Peter. You scared me." I said.

"Oh sorry." He said. He looked really guilty. "Wanna walked to class?" he said. We both had Science so we started walking there together.

"So, are you going to try out for the cheerleading squad?" He asked trying to fill the silence.

I had totally forgotten about that. "Um, I don't know."

"Well, you know they are during break right?" He said.

"No, really?"

"Ya. You really should do it. It could help you make some new friends." He said. I could tell he really did mean what he said, but I also new a part of him just wanted to see me in a cheer uniform. Boys. I laugh to myself.

"Well why would I need new friends if I have you?" I said. Peter blushed. "But, I guess your right. I might get bored of you if your my only friend. Plus might as well experience the whole high school experience right? So I guess I'll do it!"

"Yay! Uh... I mean... That's great." Peter said, trying to catch his little yay. I laughed, he was so bad at hiding things. I wonder how on earth he's hidden being Spiderman for all this time?

"Oo, Guess what!" I said excitedly.

"What?" He asked, seeming a bit scared.

"I get to come on the mission this weekend!"

"What? That's great!" He said. But then his face turned very worried about this news. "Wait, will you be like fighting too?" He said getting worried.

"Haha. Don't you worry Peter Parker. I can handle myself." I said, but he still seemed worried.

We got to science class and sat down at a table next to this other boy.

"Veronica this is Ned." Peter said introducing me to him. "He's my best friend."

"Nice to meet you." I said shaking his hand. He looked like he was about to faint.

Class started and so we sat down and stopped talking. It wasn't very interesting though. It was about mixing different chemicals and what each of the reactions would be. Luckily I've been doing that since I was two. My dad loved teaching me about science and how to mix different chemicals to make cool weapons and stuff. So I wasn't going to have a hard time catching up in this class.
