The Setup

(Peter's POV)

I met Happy downstairs in the lobby at 8 o'clock. But Veronica wasn't there yet. 

"Where's Veronica?" Happy asked. Not even bothering to look at me.

"Um, I don't know. I haven't seen her since last night. You know when I dropped her off at her room. And didn't go inside. Yep haven't seen her since then." I rambled. He was onto us, but I don't think my rambling helped. He just looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

Then the door to the elevator opened and Veronica walked out. In all black and sunglasses. She looked stunning. 

"The car is just outside." Happy said and walked away, and we followed suit. 

The whole way to wherever we we going was a super awkward car ride because no one said a thing. Finally, after what seemed like a lifetime, we stopped.

"Here's your head pieces. Listen to Tony, and don't do anything stupid." Happy said as we got out of the car. "Tony wants you hidden in the building somewhere for when he brings the fight in there so that he'll have new energy added to the fight." We nodded and Happy drove away.

I was so excited! I finally was going on another mission. I looked over at Veronica who was just looking down at her watch. But her watch had glowing picture's coming out of it. 

"They're going to be here in about 15 minutes from what it looks like. Come on lets go find a place to hide." She said, and started casually walking to the massive building. She was defiantly a pro at this. 

We walked into the building. It was big and basically empty.

"Wait I thought you said that we were busting a supplies deal." I said.

"That's what my dad said it was, but I think it took a turn, or my dad just didn't want me to know what it was really about." She said, not even giving it a second thought.

"Well isn't it bad that we don't know what we're up against?" I asked starting to get nervous.

She turned around and smiled at me. "You don't need to know what your up against. You'll do great no matter what."

This made me feel a lot better.

"Come on lets find a good place to hide." She said looking around the building. 

We decided on going up into the rafters in a place with good cover.

"How long till they get here?" I whispered. We were very close together and even though I knew that she had tons of weird combat things that would protect her from a fall I held onto her tightly. I mean we were 50 feet up.

"Nothings coming up on my watch. But my watch always works. I designed it myself. Someone must be blocking the signal." She began to look a little worried. "Dad? Dad can you here me?" She whispered into her headset. But there was no response just static noise. 

Suddenly we heard the sound of some sort of machine walking. She looked at me and put her finger to her lips. She stood up and walked along the small metal beams quietly looking down at the ground. 

I watched her scarred that she would fall and was preparing myself to catch her. All of a sudden we heard a loud boom and the beams we were on started crashing towards the ground. 

I tried to look for Veronica but I couldn't see her. So I just swung to the side. Then it was silent. Completely silent.

(Tony's POV)

T: "Happy where are the kids?" I yelled through my headpiece.

H: "They're at the building that you texted me the address for." Happy said.

T: "What do you mean I texted you and address? I told you to bring them to the train station."

H: "No you texted me and told me to send them to the old warehouse down in that little village 40 minutes from here!"

Oh no. This was a set up. And it involved my baby girl!

(Peter's POV)

"Ahhhhh!" I looked over and saw Veronica running towards a big half metal half human looking thing.

She jumped at it and used some crazy black widow move to take it to the ground. I watched her in shock. When the hell did she learn to do that? Suddenly I got punch from the side and was sent flying into a wall. It appeared to be that there was two of these weird robot things. I stood up and shot a web at it, it dodged it so I started getting closer.

"Come on dude. Don't you know it's not nice to hit people?" I said.

(Veronica's POV)

"Come on dude. Don't you know it's not nice to hit people?" Peter yelled at the other machine human.

I had heard that he talked in battles, but this was ridiculous. God he was such an adorable dork.

I turned around and did a twisting kick, and hit to machine thing straight in the face. It looked pissed. I took out my gun and starting shooting at it but nothing happened. 

Suddenly I was picked up and started to get carried towards the door. But it was like I couldn't move. The machine was holding some thing on me that made it so I couldn't move.

"Peter!" I screamed out. His head whipped around to see me and he shot a tazer web at the guy he was fighting which held him off for a second that he started running towards me. "I can't move!" I yelled out.

"It's ok, I got you!" He said.

He shot a web at the machines head and yanked him back. He fell backwards and I crashed to the floor, I could now move again and ran over to where Peter was standing. We fought the two machine humans together back to back, we made a really good team. We were almost about to beat them when 5 more burst into the building. At the distraction Peter lost focus and was punched in the face and then hurled against a wall. But he didn't stand up.

"Peter?!" I screamed.

I used all the strength I had to keep fighting these weird robot humans.

Suddenly an arrow flew straight through the head of a machine human that was holding me against the wall. With that he dropped me and I turned around and saw Clint standing there.

"The rest are on their way! Grab Peter and go!" Clint yelled to me. I nodded and ran over to where Peter was. 

"Peter! Peter! Wake up! We have to go!" I yelled at him over the noise.

He turned and looked at me he had a big bruise head his eye and a gash on the side of his face. He nodded. And I helped him to stand. With the help of the Avengers we walked out of the building without trouble and I put him in an empty car got in it and then started driving away as quickly as I could. 

After about 20 minutes Peter looked at me and asked, "What the hell just happened?"

"We must have been set up. But the Avengers found us and now we're going back to the hotel." I answered. He just stared at me the rest of the way back to the hotel. 

To get back to our rooms I took him through the back way so that no one would see us. Peter was fully back with it but he still had the bruise and gash under his eye, and could barley walk.
