UNDERSTANDING CHAKRAS & AURAS
Keeping your chakras and aura balanced is essential for both physical and spiritual well-being. It's also a sure way to heighten and awaken your 6 senses. The following exercises will help you connect with and maintain the health of these energy centers.
So, what exactly are chakras?
The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means "Wheels of Light." Chakras are spinning energy centers within the body that help regulate our well-being by drawing in positive energy and releasing anything that no longer serves us. Since everything in the universe is made of energy—including us—it's important to keep our chakras open and aligned.
There are seven main chakras, each playing a unique role in our emotional, physical, and spiritual balance:
Root Chakra (Red) – Grounding, stability, physical health
Sacral Chakra (Orange) – Emotions, creativity, relationships
Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow) – Confidence, personal power, mental clarity
Heart Chakra (Green) – Love, compassion, connection
Throat Chakra (Turquoise) – Communication, self-expression
Third Eye Chakra (Blue) – Intuition, insight, wisdom
Crown Chakra (Purple) – Spirituality, higher consciousness
The Root Chakra (Red)
The Root Chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the base of the spine and is associated with stability, security, and physical well-being. If this chakra is out of balance, you might experience fatigue, low energy, anxiety, or even physical symptoms like headaches or back pain.
Ways to balance the Root Chakra:
Engage in physical exercise and spend time outdoors
Eat red foods and drink red beverages
Wear red clothing or carry red crystals (like garnet or red jasper)
Use grounding essential oils like sandalwood or ylang-ylang
Try meditation techniques designed for root chakra healing
The Sacral Chakra (Orange)
The Sacral Chakra, or Svadhisthana, is located in the lower abdomen and governs emotions, creativity, and relationships. An imbalance in this chakra can lead to mood swings, addictive behaviors, or physical issues like urinary infections or digestive problems.
Ways to balance the Sacral Chakra:
Eat orange foods and drink orange-colored beverages
Take warm, aromatic bathsWear orange clothing or carry orange gemstones (like carnelian or orange calcite).
Explore different creative outlets—dance, paint, write!
Use uplifting essential oils like sweet orange or jasmine
The Solar Plexus Chakra (Yellow)
The Solar Plexus Chakra, or Manipura, is located in the stomach area and is the center of personal power, confidence, and decision-making. When balanced, it helps you feel self-assured and in control of your life. An imbalance, however, can lead to self-doubt, anxiety, or digestive issues.
Ways to balance the Solar Plexus Chakra:
Eat yellow foods (bananas, corn, pineapple).
Spend time in the sunlightWear yellow clothing or carry yellow crystals (like citrine or tiger's eye).
