Jason's pov

*a few months later*

I was hiding out in an alleyway, looking for my next victim. I have recently looked at myself and my skin has become more pale. I don't know why. Perhaps if I was still home George could've explained why. Oh how I miss them. Every damn day. I grab a guy off the streets and pull him into the alleyway. "Hey what's the big idea?" I trance him and force him deeper into the alleyway away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. After I feed from him, I burn the body with my fire powers.

*later*

I leaned against the wall, trying to get some sleep. Suddenly my senses warn me of danger. I snap my head up to see three men walk into the alleyway. "Well, it looks like someone is on the wrong side of the tracks." Luckily it's too dark for them to see that I'm a vampire. "You don't want to mess with me." I say, my hands in my pockets. I yank my hood up. "Ok wise guy you do realize you're on our turf." I roll my eyes and glare at the ground. "You do realize I don't give a fuck." I gripe. They walk over. "Trust me. You're making a mistake! You're all gonna wind up dead!" I shout, backing up. One pulls out a pipe. "Actually kid, it was you who made a mistake." The first guy says, smirking. He swings the pipe, landing it across my face. My hood falls off and I stumble backwards. I struggle to get on my feet only to get smashed in the back. I don't want to hurt them. I'm not a bad person! He beats me with the pipe, pain flashing up and down my body with each strike. Then I hear the sound of a switchblade. One kicks me, making me fall on my back in pain. They slice my hoodie with the knife. Shit. "Oh jeez this kid must be dyin'. He's so pale." My body tenses. Pinpricks of pain shooting through me. Shit. I can feel my dark side trying to take over. "What the?? How'd his hair change color." I laugh and stand up. "Foolish mortals. I am dead. Actually the term is... Undead." The guy drops the pipe, shocked. I know my dark side has taken over. My eyes are red and my hair is black. I'm stronger too. "I warned you. You're all gonna die now."

*the next day*

I come to, yesterday being a blur. I struggle to open my eyes, pain searing up and down my back. What happened to my back? It hurts like a motherfucker. I jump up terrified when the bodies of three bloody men lay on the ground. I grab my torn hoodie and a switchblade, and I take off running. When I can't run anymore, I drop to my knees, breathless and drenched in sweat. I landed beside a river. I splash water on my sweaty face. The sun beating down on me. I've got to fix my hoodie. Luckily Jamie taught me how to sew. Aw Jamie. I miss her so much. I miss them all of course but my wife and Jamie I miss the most. After sewing my hoodie back together, I shrug into it and put the hood up. I shakily stand up, out of breath. What happened yesterday? "The darkness saved your life." My eyes go wide. "No. The darkness is evil. I hate it." "No you don't." "Yes I do!" I shout panicked. "You love the power." I stumble backward, falling into the river. Panic rising. Shit I've got to stay calm. Otherwise I'll lose concentration and my communication will be unblocked. She'll be able to track me. She'll feel my fear and panic. She'll be worried. I take a deep breath, now soaking wet. The voices gone for now. Thank God. "I wanna go home." I whisper shivering. I follow the path, leading to it. I see Star playing volleyball with Raven and Dave. I hear excited happy yelling. I try to find it but I don't... Oh wait there! I keep hidden behind a tree. "I can't thank you enough!" My breath catches. My girl. It's good to see her happy. She hugs George. "Try as hard as you can." He says. I turn my attention to finding the others and wherever they are but then to my utter and complete shock, I hear a voice. In my head. Her voice. "Jason, can you hear me?! Please tell me you can hear me!" I obviously don't respond. I don't want her to find me. I look back out. I can see the disapointed look on her face. "Try again." George says. "I can feel him. I just can't hear him." Shit. She can feel me. I turn around to run when shock fills me. Jamie and Andy, standing behind me, staring at me shocked. "Jason!" She cries hugging me. "H-Hey Jamie." I say hugging her back. Andy smiles. "Come on. Come home, please!" She begs. Fear fills me. "No. I can't. You know I can't." "We'll figure this out together. We've been so worried." "I can't take the chance." I say backing up. "Dont leave bro. We need you!" Andy gasps desperately. I shake my head, fear settling in the pit of my stomach. I hear my wonderful wife's voice. "He's scared. Why is he scared? Jason? Are you okay? Please respond, Jason. Please I love you! I love you!" I try to block communication again but I'm too freaked. "Jason-" "No Jamie... I... I've got to leave!" I take off running as fast as I can. I look back and see they aren't chasing me. Phew. I disappear into the safety of the forest and I keep running until I reach the old cabin. I collapse to the floor unable to catch my breath. "That was too close. I can never do that again."

Miranda's pov

He's so scared. I hate it. I sit down, my head in my hands. "I want to help him." I whisper. "He is so dang stubborn." George says, shaking his head. "But he's doing this to protect you." I sigh. "I'm not afraid of him." I say. "I beat that witch singlehandedly didn't I?" "Beginner's luck!" He snaps. I roll my eyes. Then Jamie and Andy ran over. "Guys! Jason was watching y'all. He was up the hill but he ran off!" "Which way?" I shout, adrenaline rushing through me. Jamie points the way. "I'll find you, Jay." I whisper, determined.
