Yagiz brought her up to his apartment. He was staying at the mansion only to be with his family after his mother died. Normally he lived here on his own. As they stepped inside he turned on the lights. It was a spacious flat Ece noticed. It definitely looked like a bachelor's place, there wasn't much in the way of decorations. It didn't feel homely at all.
"You get cleaned up and dry yourself off first." Yagiz broke the awkward silence. Ece's foot was still in pain. She couldn't put much pressure on it. He helped her walk into the guest bathroom. "There's a towel and a hair dryer in that cabinet." He pointed to her left. "I'll leave some clean clothes for you to wear outside the door. Just call me down when you're done." Ece nodded in agreement. "You can leave your wet clothes outside the door. I'll put them in the wash." Yagiz waited outside the door for a few moments to collect the damp clothes. He went upstairs to take off his own soiled clothes and tossed both their laundry in the washer.
The warm water against her skin felt amazing. Ece hadn't had a shower in three days and after the cold rain a simple hot shower felt like a luxury. Ece looked at the bottom of the shower to find murky water flowing down the drain. Her hair was coated in mud from falling down in the forest. She spotted cuts all over her left foot from running after her shoe fell off. Her foot was bruised from one of her falls that night. Ece quickly dried her hair once finished with the shower. She cautiously opened the bathroom door to make sure Yagiz was not in sight. She found a small pile of clothes neatly folded waiting for her outside the door.
Ece got dressed and called Yagiz down to help her walk. Yagiz had also finished washing up and had changed into black sweatpants and a grey t-shirt. Yagiz looked the girl up and down. He began to chuckle, nearly snorting. He had given her one of his shirts and shorts but the clothes looked ridiculously oversized on the small girl. She was practically swimming in the shirt. The blue shirt was so long that the shorts were halfway hidden and her hands were nowhere in sight. "I didn't think you knew how to smile." she said irritated at the man. Despite all his help she was still annoyed that he stopped her from going to the hospital with Yasin, not even taking into account that he yelled at and lectured her that night. Who did he think he was? Her dad? Her brother? Ece didn't have either and she didn't need either."What's so funny anyway?"
"Nothing." Yagiz lied covering his mouth. He pursed his lips trying to hold back his smile and laughter. He walked up to Ece to roll up the sleeves on her shirt. He then bent down to her height, put her left arm across his shoulder and attempted to help her walk toward the couch. After a few steps the motion become uncomfortable for both of them. Yagiz decided it would it would be faster if he just carried her. Without warning he ungracefully picked Ece up like a sack of potatoes, walked forward and placed her on the couch. He pushed the coffee table forward so she could elevate her injured foot.
Ece saw Yagiz rummaging through the kitchen in search of something. He came back with something wrapped in a tea towel. "Ice." he answered her silent question. "To help the swelling." He placed the the ice against her ankle. Before Yagiz could sit down to catch a break he heard Ece's stomatch grumble. Ece looked away, embarrassed at the sounds her stomach was making. 'She probably didn't eat anything all day.' he realized. He too noticed his hunger, having only had breakfast that day. "I'm starving." he turned to Ece. "Let's eat something." Ece was glad he offered because she felt too embarrassed to ask.
Yagiz made his way over to the kitchen again. Since he was living in the mansion for the past week he hadn't had time to stock up on food at his own apartment. He generally didn't have much food in his apartment because he lived on his own and would order in when there was nothing to eat. It was nearly midnight, there wouldn't be many places still delivering at this time. He heat up some canned soup, cut up some bread and spread spiced tomato paste overtop, and cut up an apple and banana to share between the two of them. He brought the food over to Ece.
