Fazilet called Ece, curious where her daughter was going with Yagiz Egemen.
"Ece, where are you?"
"Uh...I'm on the bus. I'm going home."
"On the bus?" Fazilet knew Ece was lying but didn't know why. "Oh, okay. I'll see you at home later." Fazilet tried not to worry. He must be driving her because she fell on the driveway and hurt her knee. But why would Ece lie? Ece quickly ended the call before her mother could ask more questions.
"I'm a bus driver now?" Yagiz laughed.
"Sorry. It's just my mom. She'll get the wrong idea if I tell her I'm in a guy's car."
"Which street do I take from here?" Yagiz was unfamiliar with the neighbourhood.
"Just take a left at the end of the street. You can drop me off on the main road." Ece guided.
"What are you saying, Ece? I'll drop you off at you off at your house, just tell me the way." Ece's knee must still be in pain. He wouldn't let her walk all the way.
"It would be better if you dropped me off on the main road, I don't want my neighbours to see. You know what it's like in these types of neighbourhood with all-seeing aunties. If they see me getting out of your car the gossip will be endless. But thanks."
"If that's what you want." Yagiz sighed.
Yagiz pulled over to the curb where Ece directed him. He got out and walked over to the passenger side to open the door for Ece. "Madam, we've arrive at your destination." Yagiz joked pretending to be a chauffeur. He held out a hand to help Ece climb out of the car. Ece giggled at his silly joke. She looked up, he was laughing too. Yagiz placed a hand on Ece's shoulders to steady her balance.
A second later Ece heard a familiar voice screaming her name. Yasin sharpley marched toward them.
"Ece, who the fuck is this guy? Why are you getting out of his car?" Yasin demanded an answer.
"Yasin, don't you remember him? He's the one that saved you from the abandoned house. He was the one that called the ambulance." Ece tried to calm her boyfriend down.
"You look in better shape since the last time I saw you." Yagiz pointed out. "I'm Yagiz Egemen, nice to properly meet you." Yagiz extended a hand to the boy. Yasin just slapped the hand away.
"I don't care who you are. Why are you driving around with my fiance?"
"Yasin," Ece urged him to calm down "weren't you listening? I said he was the one that called an ambulance for you. If it weren't for him you'd be dead by now."
"Ece, shut up about the damn ambulance." Yasin warned her. "I want to know why the hell my fiance is going around in some other guy's car, smiling and laughing in front of him and letting him touch you."
Ece knew Yasin was the jealous type but he never talked her like that before.
"Yagiz, you should leave." Ece tried to push Yagiz back to the car but he stopped her.
"I'm not going anywhere until he speaks to with some respect." Yagiz said while looking straight at the immature boy standing in front of him.
"Don't pretend to be a damn hero!" Yasin lunged at the man and tried to land a swing. Yagiz simply pushed the boy off of him. Sukriye teyze caught up to her son. She told him Ece was trouble. She could see after a few days she already moved onto the next man. She dragged her son back home.
Ece stood there sadly as she watched her fiance be hauled away.
"Ece, you should reconsider if that's the kind of man you want to marry. But you girls love that, don't you: a man who says whatever comes to his mind, no filter, no conderstion, acts on impulse, the brutes, the bad boys. Ece, I can tell you one thing that's for sure. That," Yagiz points at Yasin in the distance "that is not love. Love is about listening, understanding, talking. Love is about respecting one another. He has no respect for. Take it from someone who's older and more experienced."
