I can't help but smile. He notices and leans in. Am I really gonna do this? Am I really gonna just take him back because he apologised? Yes. Yes I was. Because I love him.
My lips touch his chapped ones and I kiss him, hard. I haven't had anyone hold me in so long that I've forgotten what it's like. I kiss him like it's the only thing I will ever have to do. He only pulls away when we're both completely out of breath which makes me smile wider.
"I love you" I say and his face seems to literally just be his smile.
"I love you too" he replies and I peck him on the lips.
He goes back to the house and I stay here, this is my home now. I can't go back to where I was before and this seems to be working perfectly. I know I'll have to get another place soon, but until then, I'm home.
