I'm back at it again. woohoo 🎉
I wake up in Carl's arms and in that moment the world stops and this second is all that matters. I get up to get dressed but a pressure on my hip stops me.
"5 more minutes" he whines in his rough, sleepy voice. I sigh and decide to give him that, packing can wait another 5 minutes. I snuggle into his chest and listen to his heartbeat. My hands roam his chest, drawing the outline of his abs he would have if he worked out a tiny bit more.
His fingers stroke my hair and my contentment level is absolutely through the roof. I peck his lips and pull myself out of his arms.
"I've got to go baby" I say softly and he groans once again. I'm not gonna tell him I'm leaving for as long as I am, I need to say goodbye without making it suspicious.
He gets out for bed and I put my head in his chest while he holds me; "goodbye baby, I love you" I say and he pulls back, eyebrows raised.
"I love you too, and yeah I'll see you soon" the confidence in his voice nearly breaks me. I just hope this won't hurt him as much as it will hurt me. It probably won't.
Flashback to night before
After we had finished, Carl fell asleep with his head between my breasts and I giggled slightly at the feeling of his breath there. I slid out of bed and went for his jeans. In the pocket was his phone, I took it and ran to the bathroom in just my panties.
The clock read 3:45am so I just groaned and wished for the best. My fingers scrolled until they found the contact I was searching for: Diego.
I press the call button and surprisingly,he picks up quite quickly. His voice is slurred but once I tell him it's me, his tone changes immediately. "What's up babygirl?" he asks and I toll my eyes at the pet name.
"I need something from you"
"Anything" he replies and I internally laugh. He doesn't know what he's gotten himself into.
"I need a place to stay" I say and hope he'll say yes.
"There's always room in my bed, ma"
I just laugh and state "I'll take that as a yes, but I'll sleep on the sofa"
He groans and ends the call with telling me his address. I write it on some toilet paper with a sharpie. I have a place to stay. Somewhere I'm wanted.
back to now
I walk down the front stairs of the Gallagher's house and wait for my taxi. I am stood there for a few minutes when Carl comes out behind me.
"y/n?" I spun around "Where are you going? Don't leave me" his voice cracks at the end and I almost shed a tear. The car pulls up so I hug Carl with everything I have and hope he understands that I have to do this. I then turn around and get in, thanking the Lord that it hasn't been as hard as I had thought.
"I love you" and with that, the car pulled away and the waterworks let loose.
