4. Groupchats and Girls

"I'm home!" Seth called out from the hall. He dropped his bag near the door and hung his jacket up before heading into the kitchen.

"How was school?" His mother asked from behind a cooking pot, Seth slid past her and got a bottle of water from the fridge before seating himself on a chair.

"It was good" Seth lied, he still felt guilty about skipping school but he'd be lying if he said he didn't have fun. The two had just drove around town for the rest of the day and talked, it was nice. So far Seth had learnt that Dean calls salad "leaf puzzle" and he didn't like horror movies. He'd also observed some of Dean's actions and made a mental note to write them down. He wasn't weird, he was competitive and if Dean wanted a challenge then Seth would beat him at his own game.

"I'm glad" His mother replied, Seth sipped his water. "Do you want Becky or Finn to come over tonight?"

"You're working tonight aren't you?" Seth asked, his mother worked day and night jobs to help provide for him and his younger sister. He loved his mother to death and was extremely proud and appreciative of her but she deserved a break.

"I've got to babe, the bills won't pay themselves" She sighed.

"I know mom but you don't have to do it all, I've said I'll get a job to help. It'd be the least I could do."

Seth's mother turned to him and placed her hands on his cheeks. "And I've said you don't need to. Now get upstairs and do whatever you want, Billie will be home at around seven. Dinner will be in the fridge and you can have whoever you want over, just remind Sami not to go too crazy for me okay? I won't be too long tonight, I promise." She kissed his forehead and he scowled to himself, he hated that she overworked herself just to make sure him and Billie were okay.

Seth trudged up to his room and put his phone on charge, he'd text Becky and Finn later to see if they wanted to come over. Although they weren't blood related, Becky and Finn were adopted brother and sister, unfortunately for them their "parents" only really adopted the two to make themselves look good. Both Becky and Finn disliked the fancy lifestyle that was shoved down their throats by their parents and their parents disliked them, so the Irish pair would often spend time at Seth's.

Whilst his phone slowly came back to life, Seth got changed into a pair of shorts and turned his PlayStation on, it was far too hot to wear a shirt. His phone chimed, indicating he had a notification and with a sigh, he paused his game and went to check it.
