NAOMI

"Nakashima." A ghost of a girl stared at me. One of her eyes were missing. Could it be...? "Yuki," I say. "Hello." She glanced at me, her face emotionless. "Is it not over?" I asked immediately. "Kind of...kind of not," she murmured. "Come on, Yuki!" I gazed at her pleadingly. "Just say it!" "Sachiko melted straight into the living world!" Yuki yelled. "A flesh and bone body, and she's older." "How old?" I inquired. "Twenty."

She sighed. "We may haunt your dreams, Naomi. We might even be real spirits." "What do I do?" I shouted, but Yuki was already fading away. "I'm sorry...the clock's ticking..."

"Naomi-chan! Naomi-chan!" I slowly opened my eyes to see Ayumi leaning over me, concern written all over her face. "Wha...what happened?" I asked, sitting up. I rubbed my eyes drowsily. Was it still school hour? "As we got dismissed, I found you, lying on the ground. You seemed to be breathing, but it wasn't like you to skip class. So I brought you here, and the nurse said you fainted, somehow," she added. Should I tell her?

Not right now. After we just got back. "I guess I'll walk home," I say. "Do you want me to drive you?" the nurse asked kindly. "No, thanks. It's no problem, really," I told her, hopping off the bed and heading for the door. "I'll walk you home," Ayumi offered, not allowing any protests as she sauntered along with me.

I shifted my attention in front of me. Did losing my conscious startle her that much to accompany me home? "Tell me everything." My house was only a few minutes away. As we stopped, she swerved around, blocking my path. The class rep placed her hands on my shoulders, piercing her lip with her teeth. "Well? What happened?" she demanded. I exhaled. "Ayumi, you won't like it." "Just spit it out!"

"Yuki came to me. She said Sachiko seeped through her world into ours, at the age of twenty. Ryou, Tokiko, and even herself will haunt our dreams at night. They will become ghosts of our world. She finished with 'the clock's ticking,'" I say swiftly, out of breath. "Hmm. I wonder about Heavenly Host..." Ayumi wondered aloud.

I nodded, musing over it myself. "We just have to be careful," she said, walking along.

I promise you, Ayumi, we will have to do much more than being careful.
