AYUMI

I shut my eyes, pounding my head against the wooden wall. I reached a dead end of the hall, and I was exhausted. I was possessed. I knew that much, and some black mist consumed my body, my only thought being to kill Naomi. For good measure, I screamed. In my hands, though. Tears streamed down my face, and I felt scattered, like every part of my being was split into tiny pieces and it joined a journey with a dead bush.

I screamed again, louder this time. What was Naomi thinking right now? A breath catches in my throat, and my eyes began to water again. Naomi. Her name sticks a needle through my heart. I sighed. I should apologize. I left her twice. Twice. What kind of friend was I? I tried to pick myself up, make myself look reasonable and to not look like I took a swim through a swamp. I kind of failed, though, so I gave up. As I steadied myself, a voice vocalized behind me.

Hoping it was Naomi, or possibly another survivor, I turned around in excitement. It wasn't either, though.

It was Kishinuma.

NAOMI

I heard an earsplitting scream echo down the hall, and I spring, panting. I felt so uneasy. So unsafe. What could I say? This place was as scary as fudge muffins coming to life. I leaned against a wall, trying to regain my breath. My ankle felt a little better, but it was sore all over. I sighed, straightening and resuming my pace. I know Ayumi went this way. The scream determined it all. I saw a pool of blood with a corpse sprawled over it, and I fought hard not to puke.

I carefully avoided it, holding a hand over my mouth in caution, pinching my nose to get rid of the horrid stench. When a hole suddenly erupted in front of me, I leaped back. Unfortunately, that was the dead female's head. But I didn't care, but from out of my reach, and Shinozaki's rescue, is Kishinuma slowly advancing on her.

Gulp.
