October the 24th 2018

"I think Luke and Ally are announcing their wedding date to us tonight," Gemma said excitedly as we continued to type away at our computers, emailing people about new marketing strategies and so on.

"Oh yeah? Have they said anything about when they want to do it?" I asked, figuring that Gemma would have more idea than I would.

"I think September next year, I'm not sure though."

I nodded and continued to email and take phone calls for the rest of my day, my hands being considerably sore afterwards. I love my job, but due to all the conversations I have throughout the day, I am always extremely tired at the end of my shifts.

"Wait, where is dinner tonight?" I questioned as we walked to our cars, the air still warm even though it was 7 pm.

"Jamie's Italian," Gemma said with a smile and I nodded as she got into her car and I got into mine. Luke has always loved Jamie's Italian and most birthdays throughout his late teenage years would be spent there before going for drinks, but that hasn't happened in a while, which made me miss the days all of us would spend together literally doing nothing,

I followed Gemma there, the soft sounds of Lewis Watson playing in the background, which reminded me of high school. Ashton was trying to get me to go on a date with him and I said to him, 'only if you come to Lewis Watson with me,' knowing that he would probably say no because our music tastes were polar opposites. Ashton didn't say no, in fact, he bought both our tickets and asked his mum to take us, which she did.

We were only fifteen at this point, and we ended up spending all our following weekends together until he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Those memories seem like a lifetime ago, and I really wish it didn't feel like that.

Gemma and I ended up getting to dinner after everyone had arrived, both of us rushing inside and finding everyone in sitting down in the corner table.

"Nice of you to join us," Luke said with a smirk and I just rolled my eyes at him as I sat down in between Lauren and Ashton. Ashton had very clearly saved a seat for me as my seat was empty in the middle of the table.

"Hey Gracie," Ashton said softly, giving me a gentle kiss on the cheek which made me blush profusely. Nobody else noticed my red cheeks and I made sure that it stayed that way for as long as possible.

After Calum's party a couple of weeks ago, I ended up sleeping with Ashton, again, and yet neither of us have had the courage to discuss what we are. I would love to begin a relationship with him again, but it feels like I am only just getting over our breakup in the first place.

"We are gathered here today," Ally began and Luke scoffed cutting her off.

"This isn't church babe," he said with a laugh, and Ally rolled her eyes at her fiance whilst we all laughed at his joke.

"ANYWAYS, what I am trying to say is that we have picked a day for our wedding," Ally said with a smile, looking at Luke like he was the best thing in the world, which to her he is.

"Are you gonna tell us?" Calum asked with a raised eyebrow and Luke just rolled his eyes and continued to speak.

"Ally and I will be getting married on September the 21st next year," Luke said as Ally squealed slightly, her green eyes radiating happiness and excitement like I had never seen before. A part of me wishes that it was Ashton and myself getting married, but I know how long Luke and Ally have been waiting for this, as they have been together for almost ten years.

"Fuck yes," Michael said with a smile, standing up to give Luke a hug as the waiter came over and took all of our orders, Ashton and I ordered the same thing, seafood carbonara like we always do when we are here.

The dinner reminded me of the way things used to be, when we would eat excessive amounts of Taco Bell when we were all in America together, or spending our days in Luke's garage, listening to the boys rehearse and write songs. My heart aches for the simple days, where we didn't care about the tabloids and the tabloids didn't care about us. A time where Ashton and I were together and talking about marriage and children, something we wanted so desperately with each other. There were days we spent countless hours talking about where we wanted to go together and what we wanted to do together, and days like those were our favourite days.

"What are you thinking about?" Ashton asked with a curious look on his face as our food arrived, the smell of pasta and garlic bread overwhelming my senses.

"How hungry I am," I said, lying with a smile on my face and Ashton rolled his eyes at me, knowing that I wasn't yelling the truth but he clearly didn't want to push it further.

"Oh sure Gracie," Ashton said with a smirk before I just shoved a spoonful of pasta into my mouth trying to prove my point. Ashton let out a ridiculously loud laugh, catching the attention of everyone at the table but nobody said anything as everyone was too busy eating.

The rest of dinner was filled with a lot of laughter and plenty of awkwardness between Ashton and me, making me wish that it did not have to be this way. My heart longed for a relationship like we used to have, or one like Michael and Gemma where the stupidest of fights were forgotten in a second as time was to previous to waste when your boyfriend could be in another country in twenty four hours.

"How did you get here?" I asked Ashton as we all paid for our meals, all saying goodbye to each other, leaving Ashton and I by ourselves.

"Luke and Ally picked me up," he said with a laugh, as Luke and Ally had left about five minutes ago, obviously leaving Ashton and I alone on purpose.

"I'll take you home," I said with a small smile, Ashton following me to my car.

"That is so out of your way though!" he exclaimed, even though it wasn't. Ashton and I have lived super close for most of our lives.

"Ashton you literally live ten minutes away from me, don't be silly," I laughed I said as I turned my car on and drove out of the car park, Lewis Watson playing through my radio again.

"Remember our first date when we went to see him?" Ashton asked with a smile and I nodded, my cheeks going read that he actually remembered something like that.

"I had never been so nervous for something in my life," I laughed and Ashton just shook his head and told me I shouldn't have been nervous at all.

"Why not?" I questioned, curious as to why I shouldn't have been nervous.

"I already knew you were the one for me."
