7th of July 2020

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" I yelled at Ashton, who had just walked through the front door of his house in Los Angeles, somewhere I was not supposed to be.

His house was filled with all his friends, as I had taken it upon myself to organise a surprise party for his twenty-sixth birthday. Ashton said he did not want to celebrate unless I was with him, so with help from the boys, we organised for Lauren, Gemma and myself to fly to LA undetected, and quickly plan a surprise party, whilst Calum kept him busy for the day.

"Wait, what the fuck are you doing here?" he asked, a huge smile on his face. Ashton has been in Los Angeles for just over two months, to finish some recording with the boys, meaning the last time I saw him was in May, the day he left. He would be flying back to Australia in a couple of days, but I wanted to surprise him for his birthday, so a spontaneous trip to LA was on the cards.

"You didn't think I was just going to miss your birthday?" I said with a giggle, as he hugged me tighter and kissed my face all over.

"God, I love you so much, Grace."

"I love you too Ashton," I said before placing a quick kiss on his lips, missing the feeling that it gave me over the last two months. "But you have a whole house full of people wanting to see you."

"True, but I've missed you," he said with a pout. He was wearing one of the many shirts I have given him. This particular one was a light green one, bringing out the hints of green in his eyes, which was one of my favourite things about him.

"I know, I've missed you too," I said softly, as his hands rested on my waist. "But I have you all to myself for the next couple of days, so go greet your guests," I laughed as he just rolled his eyes at me.

"Okay, fine," he said before giving me one last sweet kiss, before heading over to Mitchy Collins who was standing with Luke.

"God, you two are the best," Gemma said with a smile. Michael proposed at the beginning of this year, whilst he and Gemma were in Switzerland. I already knew that he was going to propose, of course, as he asked me for help with the ring.

"We know," I said with a grin. Gemma and Michael were planning on getting married in October 2021, back home in Australia. Gemma has already started planning the wedding, but in reality, she has had her wedding planned since she was ten years old.

Ashton's house was decorated in red and white balloons, streamers and every other decoration that you could imagine. I had never seen Ashton so happy when he realised what was going on, which made me happy that we actually pulled it off.

I practically had to beg work to let me have a week off, which means that I am going to be working extra days and hours when I get back to Australia and along with helping Gemma and Lauren plan their weddings, I have had little to no time for myself lately, so I cannot wait until everything slows down in a few months. Well, hopefully.

"Hey my gorgeous girlfriend," Ashton said as I handed him a beer. His hazel eyes were tired, but he was still the happiest that I have seen him in a very long time.

"Hey handsome," I said kissing his cheek. "Do you like it?" I asked as I gestured around to the party and decorations.

"Of course I do, you have done an amazing job as always."

"Anything did you," I said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around my waist, gently pulling me closer to him.

"God I've missed you so much," Ashton said as I draped my arms around his shoulder, our foreheads lightly touching as his lips made his way to mine. One of the things that I hate most about Ashton leaving is the fact I do not get to kiss him whenever I want. The feeling that it gives me is indescribable and nothing will probably ever compare to it.

"God I have missed that," I said with a giggle, his arms still around me, neither of us wanting to part from each other.

"You truly are the best girlfriend, you know that right?" Ashton said a serious look on his face to match the serious tone he was speaking in.

"Where is this coming from?" I asked with a laugh. I knew Ashton was a hopeless romantic half the time, but those times did not involve birthdays and alcohol.

"Just wanted to let you know Gracie," he said with a smile before placing one last kiss on my lips, both of us heading back to where the boys were with Lauren, Ally and Gemma.

"Nice of you to join us," Luke said with a smirk and Ally just rolled her eyes at him.

"Leave them be, they haven't seen each other in over two months," she said, taking a sip from her water, which was very unusual for her, and that's when it clicked.

"Holy shit," I mumbled under my breath, but everyone ended up hearing anyway.

"What?" all seven people surrounding me asked, Ally, looking the most alarmed since she obviously knew I had figured out she was possibly pregnant.

"Look you know I love you Ally, and I don't want to be rude, but are you pregnant?" I asked, really hoping the answer was yes.

"Fuck, what gave it away?" Luke asked with a sigh, but he had a huge grin on his face anyway.

"She's drinking water, we all know at events like these Ally does not mind a drink or ten," I laughed, Ally, nodding in agreement.

"Well we were going to tell you tomorrow, but since Grace is too smart for her own good," Ally said with a pause, shooting me a joking glare. "Luke and I are expecting!"

Before I knew it, everyone was crying and hugging everyone, congratulations were thrown around like wildfire, and the rest of the people at the party were extremely confused, but they would have to wait to find out the good news.

My heart was so full and happy for Luke and Ally, but I could not help but feel slightly jealous. Gemma and Michael were engaged, and Lauren and Calum were getting married. Luke and Ally are not only married but now Ally is pregnant with their first child. Ashton and I are the eldest of the group, with Ashton just turning twenty-six and me turning twenty-six in a few weeks, meaning that I really am ready to settle down.

"What are you thinking about?" Ashton asked, as we now lay in his bed at 3 am, the sheets engulfing our bodies.

"You," I said simply. It was not a complete lie, it just was not very specific.

"Thank you for making my birthday one of the best birthdays ever," Ashton said, placing a kiss on my bare shoulder.

"Anything for you Ash."
